I'm from Long Island, and I say "on line."

Most people who grew up in NYC would say waiting on line, or standing in line, myself included.

thekskill, I made it in your video! Here's a screenshot I took:

I'm the guy behind the two girls with the Apple Computer logos on their cheeks. I'm the one holding the camera. The girl with the pigtails is the one my dad and I were talking to most of the time while in line. She and her friend even made it on Apple's official photos page:

I showed my family the video and my sister instantly recognized who you guys were. She remembers you being the crazy bunch entering the store. :p

Awesome! Yeah, we were really excited to check out the store, and also wanted to make a little show for the camera. My friend was coincidentally one of the Apple guys greeting people at the cube, which made things even more fun for us. Good times.

I was a little concerned that Steve said AMD offer 'interesting products at the very high end of the server space'.

Apple do make servers, right? But it's not 'the part of the market that we concentrate on the most'.
He was very careful how he worded the reason why they are using Intel chips. Steve just left the door open for use of AMD products in the future.

If I was in purchasing, and considering forthcoming products from Apple, that admission might disconcert me...
Why?

Both AMD and Intel make good chips.

So true. You have a very good point there! ;)

steve jobs: "we never talk about unannounced products, if we ever did announce something like that id love to talk to you about it then" To me this sounds like there will be an announcement in the near future... but thats just me..
That, or he was just being polite to the hot girl.

Math errors in the Steve Jobs interview:
The interviewer says the new Apple Store in New York will be open 24x7x365. She's confusing 24x7 (open every hour of the week) and 24x365 (open every hour of the year). Her version means every hour for 7 years! Steve says it correctly (24x365) in the interview.

It's all redundant. 24/7/365 just means 24hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Question... Are there locks on the doors? If so, why?

I imagine they'll have to close the store to set up for new products every few months. Or maybe they'll do it right on the spot...

Never in my life have I heard anyone from anywhere say waiting ON line. I live in Georgia, but hey, I watch a lot of TV and most of the people here in Atl are from the North anyway.

We would say waiting IN line, standing IN line, or possibly Waitin' in that there line o'er yonder.

So what part of 24x365 don't you understand? There's no closing for anything when you say 24x365. That's sort of the total whole point of saying 365.

Haven't you been to Waffle House? 365 means 365 there. Yep. You can have your T-day thanksgiving there if you like even.

... I never said I didn't understand the concept for 24x365. I was simply putting out my opinion.

There are locks on the front door. Not sure why. They were used before the store opened. I guess its like the locks on a 7-11.

Take a good look at that store. What happens when it rains?

Also, anyone else getting pictures each hour rather than any timelaspe video? it's clearly quicktime, but I just get a still picture and no play button. weird.

I'd bet it'd be awesome in there in a thunderstorm, because the flat top would have standing water and it would flow down all four sides really thick... kinda like the Seattle Public Library in downtown (I was there in a thunderstorm a year ago, craziest thing ever.)

Well, I was outside in line on opening day when the skies opened up --- tons of heavy rain blown sideways, thunder and lightening  . It was actually quite cool, I am pretty sure that they treated or siliconized the glass as the water came off in sheets and the sides of the cube looked very clear once the monsoon stopped.

My rambling thoughts...

I didn't care too much for the steps. I think it was the 8th one down, it was very wobbly. Also, the tread is very narrow as you are coming back up on the right hand side.

The elevator, however, made up for any shortcomings of the stairs, it was very sleek. I had a hard time looking for the call button though...

I loved how open it felt. The design does lend itself to letting in a lot of natural light.
