The lack of wires vastly improves user experience even if is a luxury
Probably depends on the person. The advantage to wires between the earbuds is you can take them off and hang them around your neck. The Beatsx have magnets that make connect them. You also have more controls available without needing to talk to Siri.

Nothing here actually refutes any of those claims. It's nice that those who have bought them are happy though.
I still activily think they are ugly, yet I wear mine probably 80-90% of my day. Turns out in the end functionality beats out looks 100% of the time. I love love love them, and with running the iOS 11 beta being able to tie different actions to each airpods fixes most of the issues I had. Also I can’t remember in the last 4 months that I’ve had mine a day that goes by that someone doesn’t ask me in amazement over how they work about them. I’m surprised how many people don’t know these exist. I expect the ugly design will become completely and utterly excepted within a year

I don't know about within a year. As you say, a lot of people don't even know that they exist! For all the talk about how much of a hit they are and how they are back ordered for weeks, they are still far from being mainstream. I've still never even seen a pair being used in person.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking them. It seems that everyone who uses them loves them, and that says a lot.
