What a piece of boring useless creepy junk.
Nobody cares, obviously

What is needed is a clear separation between content tights account managers, and content distribution sellers.
But our time is way too lazy to adress the issue anymore, anyway, most ptobably

"self aware," i KNEW Apple was building SKYNet - now we have proof!!!!! i do hope they do something like this - i thought the most recent apple tv would be like this. I envision their device tightly connected to the watch and computer. It will know when you enter the house and where you are in the house. I'm very happy with the connection between my phone and computer - all my text messages (icloud and normal texts) show up on my computer while i'm working - plus can answer phone calls on the computer. Apple is starting to integrate all their products very well.

Apple lately has sure turned into a "Me too" company.

I think they need to focus on what got them here in the first place, with a refresh line of the Macs and focus on innovation of the iPhone.

When has Apple released something that didn't already have a predecessor? They take a category and revolutionize it. They make it accessible to That's what they've always done.

Yes, it's always a good idea for companies to remain rigid in their ways and not try and change with the times. That's why companies like Blackberry, Kodak and Blockbuster are still on top of their game.

Still moving the wrong direction.

The idea isn't to put a camera in the living room watching everyone, the sensible and more profitable solution is to leverage the Apple Watch as an identification device. Why look for peoples faces when you can simply leverage the WifiSlam IP acquired years ago?

I don't believe this rumor because it's cut from the same cloth as other silly rumors that hope to glom onto whatever "tech unicorn feature" they thing is going to save mankind. KISS (keep it simple stupid). Don't overthink things. I don't want cameras watching me I want it watching my property.

Of course, Apple will over think it to death and in the end will be crippled and barely do anything well. But hey, it will be available in Rose Gold! ;) I miss when Apple you used to make insanely great products and software.

Phone 6s - Thank You Speech

hahaha, that's an awesome video!

What'll probably happen is we will keep hearing rumours about it for the next 10 months and then Google will release the new Google Home with a far more sophisticated computer vision system than Apple could ever produce. They already have several API's available to recognise objects and people, and it would tie in far better to their Photos and assistant than it would to Siri.

riiiiight - because google has been soooooo successful with their hardware - glass, and nest being at the top of the list. And i see millions and millions wearing their watches.

Right. But the iPhone was the first introduce multitouch and change the iPhone forever. They need to continue to focus on innovative features such as multitouch, FaceTime, or other various software development. Some smart phones are still using the same technology and software from five years ago, when the iPhone at least attempt to introduce new features, such as 3-D touch, and touch ID.
I must've missed the part where this new product was already announced and we know about the new features.

Apple has about the chance of pulling off successful facial recognition as they did with launches their of Siri, TouchID, Apple Maps, or countless releases of x.0 iOSs. It's just not going to work.

I just imagine some marketing types at Amazon just chuckling every time there is a another article like this. About every one of them compares these upcoming devices to the Amazon Echo, kind of implying that is the standard to beat.

Good for engineers ego, but not for sales people.

Geeks (people who can buy something like this) would be like "oh but there's now a Google one, I think Google would do a better job", and now "oh Apple is making one with camera, better wait to see what they are capable of, and how Google and Amazon would respond", and ends up buying nothing...

Yeah, because TouchID dindn't work right off the bat, and without problems... /s!

I would love it if Apple bought JIBO. There's so much potential but the company is small and has been taking a long time to perfect their vision. With Apple-like resources, this thing would be awesome!

Lol, no offense.... but anyone suggesting purchase of that vaporware firm comes off like a desperate investor!
They've been around two years, missed three promised "release dates" & literally shipped NOTHING.
That usually is not the kind of company to excitedly go after...

As I read this article, I realized that I have three Apple cameras pointed at me, with one more in my pocket. Apple knows how to make cameras secure. And the whole spat with the FBI helped solidify their commitment to privacy.

That all being said, it's always possible that they change their stance in the future. Let's hope they don't.

These things are so stupid. Can't understand why anyone would really want one. They'll be going the way of the LaserDisc in no time...
