and you have. I see your point, your better off of stating it in full vs hiding ;)
I guess you missed that lyric ( I just want to life not be judged).

this is not music, had to turn it off

It IS music. It has a beat, rhythm and expresses emotion. It's not the music you like but it doesn't deserve the label of not being music. Your heat has a beat and rhythm and should at times express emotion too - it's also creating music.

Its not my preferred taste in music, but I do appreciate the lyrics within and the boldness of creativity.

What an absolutely terrible ad, let alone that that was supposed to be a Christmas ad!
Your opinion. I think the ad was effective in what it was trying to evoke - something I think many here have complete missed.

Christmas. I time of love, happiness, inclusion, fairness, not to be judged but just to share, live and enjoy. Basic principles I think ~ I maybe wrong.

This video and the lyrics within specifically are aimed at those in this thread disliking the music, yet y'all missed the lyrics hehe.

The mini suits minimal space, maximum music for the size to be placed in many rooms in the home. Apple's launch showed 2 or 3 kids having the mini doing whatever in their world in their room. Considering the songs lyrics, I think it actually suits that demographic but it could also suit all ages as well.

IMO aimed towards the young gen to provide an answer when asked "What do you want for Christmas?"*

(* = insert your holiday title preference here ☮️)

Considering the lyrics I think its targeted to anyone feeling shut out and wanting to shine, no specific age demographic. However I'm sure a youthful audience is what this commercial is targeted towards.

I swear, every few months, Apple releases an ad that many people interpret as wildly as a Rorschach test.

Wow.... this ad must be nice for a very few specific people.
yeah i could see that happening.jpg

Yeah, just a few.

It's amazing that the world has been sold the lie of rap/hiphop: It's not music, it isn't cool, all the related trends look hideous and actually demeans the person, it's made by fools for fools. But hey, that's not the right thing to say, right?
What is it about the instrumentation, melody and vocals you heard in this ad that makes it 'not music'? Hint: Your ignorance doesn't count as a reason.

that was painful....

I did in fact find it painful, yes..Im older and my hearing is maybe more sensitive than others. The high notes were indeed painful for me. Beautifully shot and produced but limited as a holiday video. IMHO as a consumer.

Ok I watched this. While I'm not a fan of rap or some types of hiphop at all... This wasn't bad at all. While it didn't strike me as "Christmas/Holiday/Thanksgiving" - I found the music easy to listen to and enjoyable - catchy.

My idea of holidays is that Coca-Cola truck type music from the 90s :). Granted, not everyone sees the world the way I do, so whatever works!

<shrug>. Interesting how this is now turning into a racial issue for those who don't like it.

I'm an older white guy who still listens to Joni Mitchell. While the cover image of the video can be jarring with the teeth, if you watch the video, you realize it's part of a look that she puts on. Not for everyone, I guess, but watch the video before you judge. It's full of joy and humor. I may not rush to listen to her music, but I like her vibe. Good ad.
