I never go to the App Store in hopes of finding a new cool game since this iOS 11 update. I ended up deleting every game I tried, which should have been telling. But what really has me irritated about the new App Store is seeing the old App Store. I was at Target and randomly messed with an iPhone and saw that it had games and apps I’d never heard of but looked cool. So I went to the App Store, and saw all these apps that I’ve never been shown. Then it sunk in, this isn’t iOS 11. The phone was still running iOS 9. The saddest thing about running into the old App Store was me taking my phone out and taking pics of this old phones screen as I quickly scrolled through the apps that were listed there. It felt like I had travelled through time to the future where all these neat games existed...
So, those pics are now functioning as my wishlist. So pisses me off that they just got rid of that. Why does it feel like we’re going backwards? I’m not being flippant. I’m serious. I think we are heading towards mediocrity(at best) at an uncomfortably fast pace.

I find myself only using the app store to update apps now. It's a convoluted mess now and near impossible to find anything. Even apps that I had planned to buy aren't being purchased now because they got rid of the Wish list I can't remember the name of them. I'm not an impulse buyer and usually don't buy an app until it has a few updates done or goes on a sale if I find it's usefulness may be limited. Since those apps are now impossible to go back to I simply use the store a lot less than before.

I've been in the AppStore twice now looking for a utility to do a specific job, without any real success. It seems incredible to me that the new store is more difficult, than the old one to do this. We were tacitly promised in a sense that it would be easier to access apps in the improved store. Official utility Apps have always been restrictive in comparison to the "unlocked" market, but I have the impression that they are becoming even more limited than before. All I want to do is download iMessages into a text file. I shouldn't need to buy a third party utility to do that.

Yep, we are getting dumber not smarter. The new app store is so social media centric it only caters to the millennial crowd. It's complete junk and the categories are all screwed up. I can't find anything in it unless I know the exact name of the app and search for it.
