Yeh I know it's a bit delusional on my part, but still one hundred thousand rollover in a fraction of a second was surprising to say the least.

I gave myself a chance, the 50b rolled over just before I left for work so I jumped on and downloaded a bunch of free apps (I should go back and have a look at what I actually got, lol). I downloaded apps throughout the morning at random intervals, then several in the 5-10 minutes leading up to the counter. Maybe I'll get lucky. $10,000 is a lot of movies, TV shows and books. I imagine have probably spent almost half that over the last five years on those items so this could take me through 2015. ;-)

After that the choices get a little more boring and difficult.

i think he is talking about what he would use the gift card on. since it will be added to your apple account i think you can use it in the mac app store and iTunes

It's still amazing though that Apple gets 74% of the total profits for all the app downloads between all the different app stores.

Apple's problem is that its share of total app profits is shrinking.

That's an average of $0.18/download.

Hm. More interesting would be to divide by how many dev's were paid that 9bil.

You can spend $10,000 in no time.

It's 166 barrels of Smurf Berries! And it will be 5h and 20min of fun due to the $500/15 min IAP restriction.

(Also, and this isn't the reason for limiting it only to the App Store and iTunes, but Apple only has to spend $7,000 to give $10,000 due to Apple getting 30% of every sale.)
