It's just a personal thing.....

for me, say I made printers.
I then buy some "Red Plastic Dye" for ten dollars, and, just for 1 hour I run the moulding machines with the red dye in the mix, and we end up with say 10 red printers.
Cost to me, ten dollars and a tiny tiny bit of admin time.

I then sell the printers off as "special ones" at $10,000 each.

It just seems wrong, and a bit sick to then try and make out I'm amazing as I've generated $100,000 for charity and try to get some amazing publicity.

Yes, Apple should stop doing their profitable doing, and instead spend their money in things like this.

Such a good strategy.

Really.. At this stage.. Would Apple miss a billion?
I think a greater homepage would be along the lines of. 'Apple Ends World Hunger'

This in no way takes away the fact that this is all good..

Yup.... Me point...
up until the point Apple actually put their money where their marketing mouth is I'll continue to raise said point.

You... I'll wait for iOS 10 for the appropriate emoji..

I think it is very much up to the individual to decide if they think that Apple helping to raise 8 million for WWF is a good thing. Personally, I think it's great. But, given that Apple made somewhere around 6 BILLION in 2015 from the sale of apps, 8 million doesn't seem like a large amount.

To put it in perspective, this works out at around 0.133% of their annual income from apps.

As is tradition, let's spin this negatively.
I agree that there is a lot of negativity on Macrumours about Apple, but I disagree that it is a tradition. I think it is fair to say that there are many people on the site who only give praise when it is deserved, and that Apple's actions deserve the criticism they are getting.

World Wildlife is a farce. Research who the founders are. Same nefarious players who run the IMF, World Bank etc.

I really don't understand how Apple wants to be associated with them. Well I do understand. At this point Apple is no different than say Fox News in terms of who really is running the show.

Well it's a well-known fact, sonny-jim, that there's a secret society of the 5 wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually in a secret country mansion in Colorado known as The Meadows. So who's in this Pentavirate? The Queen, the Gettys, the Rothschilds, the Vatican...and Colonel Sanders before he went tits up! Ooh I hated the Colonel, with his wee beady eyes and that smug look on his face! Ohh you're gonna buy my chicken! Ooh! How can you hate the Colonel? Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes you crave it fortnightly, smart ass!

It's funny that there's comments like this every time there's a story like this.

By the way, there's many stories like this per year. I'm guessing they contribute around $1 billion annually. They contributed $50 million to a hospital once.

So are comments like this that follow, that make up values for what apple might contribute annually, and give individual examples.

Look, apple make huge amounts of profit, they use tax loopholes, and the money they give charities is tax deductible ..... Irony....

...and how much of this is going towards Apple ?

Not saying they keep it all, but i'm saying not everything would probably go towards it..... what abut the "split" 50/50 ?
