Have you seen car play? It's those tiles. Ultra might be more sophisticated. Still this well known Apple design language. Nothing against it, but I have my iPhone with me if I need this. I just don't need this "look and feel" on my car as well.

This isn’t the same as CarPlay at all. I suggest you read up on it before making such statements.

I don't want my cars instruments to look "Apple" as well. A car manufacturer like, say Toyota, does this way better. And I don't need Apple content like FaceTime being displayed in the middle of my speedometer or similar.

Those figures are retrospective not live and the landscape has markedly shifted. Norway and UK are also very different markets as I alluded to earlier, both in terms of size, pricing/finance, EV infrastructure and governmental incentives.

The common factor between both however is that Tesla has no brand cachet or even loyalty here anymore, it’s just that there was until recently no clear challenger. The affluent demographic that used to buy new Tesla’s by default have now had their heads turned by the latest and shiniest (technologically advanced) toys and the value for money they represent. The Chinese are absolute game changers in this context.

The things Tesla buyers used to overlook (poor build quality, boring design, residual value, random pricing drops, even glitchy tech) are now a major barrier when looking at comparisons.

Then you throw in Musk (who should step back/upstairs if he had any sense, but you know, off the scale narcissism…) and outside of their valuable charging network, Tesla in Europe is only heading one way.
While I think you’re correct that there is more choice in terms of EV brands now, Tesla still the best selling car in Norway up to April 2025.

Which isn’t at all what is happening. Jeez dude, read up. But saying that a Toyota is a better binnacle / dash says it alll really. Even without reading do you honestly believe that Aston Martin, Porsche etc will forego their racing history and uniqueness? Yup keep to Toyota 🤣🤷‍♂️

All of this is just solving a problem that doesn't exist. I have navigation, communication and entertainment in my car, even some made by Apple, I have zero need for more.

Interesting, how you seem to feel offended by somebody not "wanting" it.

Not wanting it, isn’t the issue. Not representing the facts nor acknowledging and repeatedly ignoring them does. Two very different things. No problem at all not wanting it, just don’t make up stuff that isn’t so.

Finally, your car can be part of your apple products ecosystem, with your widgets and customizations, feels like it belongs.

OTA Control with a dedicated widget on your iPhone/iPad/Mac, CarKey in the wallet app and FindMy support & it will be an amazing experience.
Israelis are rich, I bet you can afford that, not for me lol

I really like CarPlay in my Chevy Bolt. I wish it could do more, integrate with the car better. I've tried using it with apps like ABRP and Sidecar with an ODBII dongle. Those apps help scratch that itch, but doesn’t really hit the mark I’m looking for like (what I assume) CarPlay Ultra would. I'm a bit torn because I’ve been a Chevy customer for nearly two decades now and never had a major issue, but I also really like CarPlay. I’m sure I can live without it. Oh well, I have at least 5 years before I'm in the car market again anyway.

Here's a great example of how Apple prefers to make something "look cool" rather than functional.
