Is this store primary for Apple employees?

There's a little shop on my campus at work (IBM) but I would say 90+% of people who ever enter it are just IBM employees. The store just sells miscellaneous gifts and snacks.

Pretty much. It's not as if Apple is a tourist attraction. You can't go and tour the place. Seems silly to drive all the way there simply for a t-shirt.

I've grabbed a thing or two from their store (bring an employee friend with and use their discount) when there for meetings with the iOS or security teams, or when coming to use their test labs. It's pretty empty most of the time.

Yep, think Burberry, think this in the UK.

in 2004.. Think it's fair to say Daniella Westbrook doesn't look like that anymore.

Wasn't when I was there! Very busy. Perhaps as they were closing for refurb and there were sale items. But it's not far from other places you may visit like the computer museum etc.

This store has become a destination. The last time I was there there were throngsmofmpeople milling around inside and outside. Lots of people taking pictures. One old gentleman had an easel set up and was making a pain intent of the scene. Amazing.

I have a Newton Coffee Mug on my desk that I was given by an Apple Sales Rep many years ago. Is it possible to by Apple branded "stuff" anywhere online or at a retail location other than the one on the Apple campus?

If they don't sell products like Macs, iPhones or iPads, then what do they sell? Just Apple t-shirts, caps and accessories?

Last time I was at Campus they did have Macs available. Whether or not they sold any, is anyone's guess. Most people shopping at that store were employed by Apple with Apple provided devices. We shopped there for the branded merchandise.

And despite earlier comments, the pricing was actually pretty good!

Genuine Apple branded stuff is only available at the Corporate Store on Campus.

Visited this store back in the Quadra/Centrus/Performa days. Got a couple of coffee mugs and such.
Would like to stop by again sometime.

I am looking forward to the mothership company store. That should blow the socks off this one. And this one looks nice.

I talked to the store staff before they closed down to ask them if they where going to be moving The Company Store in to the new mothership building and they said no. It is too bad as it looks like their groundbreaking mothership campus will only be for Apple employees. I was really looking forward to being able to see it from the outside along with an updated Company Store there.

I do hope that they at least take the walls down that surround the block that it sits on so we all can check out the groundbreaking design and architecture. From the plans it looks like it will be the best looking business park here in the San Francisco Bay Area if not any other place in the world.

Last year, I stopped by the Company Store for the first time while I was in the area for work. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of many of the things in the store. Some things felt very cheaply made but of course they didn't have the cheap price to match. I ended up buying a coffee mug and a t-shirt for my son and spent about $55.00, as I recall.

Edit: I went back and looked at my bank statement and I was way off on the amount I spent. The cost wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. It was almost $36.00 and I actually got two coffee mugs and a shirt. So, not terrible but I still remember feeling like the quality of many of the items in the store wasn't in line with the price.

This article brings to mind the lyrics of the classic song "Sixteen Tons":

St. Peter, don't you call me, I can't go ... I owe my soul to the company store. :D

It would be so awesome for an online portion of this store, to cater to those far away. I loved this store, and will have to make a trip to Cali for a visit :)

Not officially, but there are online shops like RedLightRunner and The Missing Byte that sell Apple logo gear, sometimes very rare items. I don't how much of that stuff is "legit" though.

It's mainly because of all the Chav's* that used to wear fake Burberry Stuff 8-10 years ago. Nearly ruined the company. But they are a bit of a one trick pony.

*Chav - sometimes referred to as Council Housed and Violent, but this was a Backronym. Really Chav came from The Romani word Chavi - meaning child.
so it's like a rehab?
