They likely don’t share your assessment that iPadOS is severely lacking.
Then they are lying to themselves.

Exactly... almost all of the Apple tech youtube community turned on them after WWDC.... maybe they will pay attention and that is a wake up call. Then they are lying to themselves.

They should of asked him why there is no re design, split screen, interactive widgets and why iPad was just catch up from iOS 14
I bet none of these youtubers asked hard hitting questions about why iPadOS is severely lacking. Probably heavy restrictions and not actually a freeform conversation.
I don't think Apple is so strict about the questions. Last year MKBHD asked Craig about why there's no Calculator on the iPad.
I also recently watched an interview with Craig again and the woman straight up asked "How's the software for the upcoming AR set going" and he replied (with a grin) "I have no idea what you're talking about"
So this probably shows that they're not aware of the questions they're going to be asked.
Just because we can implement a feature doesn't mean it's the right decision to do so. We could make an OS that uses more resources, but think our customers are going to be surprised how well the free iPad OS update runs on their existing devices. Why can't iPad OS use the full amount of memory of my iPad Pro that i bought with an advertised 16GB of RAM?
There are a lot of ways to implement multitasking features, but we don't think anyone has gotten it perfect yet. Our newest OS's build on what we have learned from previous releases, and we think it will be the most intuitive OS release ever. While the new multi-tasking UI is much easier to use, why are you locked into panels that are hard to switch? For example, a workflow where you are working with one primary app and copying/pasting from two other apps is not at all intuitive even with the new UI
While the code-base may be similar how people use the devices differ significantly. We wanted to ensure features were implemented for the device they would be used on. We know people are eager to use features they are familiar with on iPhone with their iPad, and we are excited to see what amazing things developers create with the new OS tools. If iOS and iPad OS are built on the same code-base, why did it take a year for iPad OS to get iOS 14 features
At Apple we constantly ask ourselves, what can we add to this market? If we can't do better than what already exists then we don't release anything. Right now there are a lot of really well-designed iPad OS calculator apps. Why still no iPad calculator?
The concept of the computer has changed a lot since the iPad first launched. Why can't I safely eject an external disk from an iPad, a basic function that has been on a Mac for 40 years
Thunderbolt is a magical technology that for many is the evolution of what USB hoped to accomplish. We work with hundreds of hardware partners to build devices that work best with Apple hardware. Compared to other protocols Thunderbolt is still relatively bleeding edge, and as a result hardware manufacturers are still learning how to get the most out of their products. We believe Thunderbolt is a gamechanger and are proud it's currently available on so many Apple Devices. Why is Thunderbolt disk access on the iPad Pro half the speed of the access from a MacBook with the same chip/port on the same disk? Why do some thunderbolt disks not work at all?
I don't think the interviews imply there is something wrong with the software. Apple has been doing interviews for years. This is an excellent way to get free publicity for Apple and at the same time, possibly gain new Apple users.Maybe something is wrong if you need to sell an OS update - the OS update should sell itself. Granted, most people upgrade without thinking about it, but this kind of outreach demonstrates their own insecurity/hidden truth that this iOS update is pretty meh.
If you look at all these videos, it's Apple that recorded the interview with some special Facetime software (or maybe thats what Facetime in Monterery looks like, no clue). There's a "ME" icon under Craig so I suppose they had the upper hand there.Bit of a shame nobody asked any decent hardhitting questions then.
If anyone suddenly became an Apple user because of these interviews, they could possibly be the most gullible people on the planet.I don't think the interviews imply there is something wrong with the software. A step of many to get to the goal. You you don't see or think these things are unnecessary, that doesn't mean they are.If anyone suddenly became an Apple user because of these interviews, they could possibly be the most gullible people on the planet.

Did anyone notice Federighi had to push the AirPods Pro in a couple times? Would really bug me to have to do that all the time.

I have to do that when I wear my AirPods Pro after the first time or when my ears are sWeatyView attachment 1790936

These guys are like iJustine SE. It is nice that Apple is giving them this exposure to help them with their channel. These guys do good work and glad to see them get this interview chance.
I wasn't familiar with any of them, are they apple related tech youtubers or just some popular youtubers that Apple thought they could get fluff pieces out of by inviting them to talk to someone so important and getting them star struck at the opportunity?
