True, and it’s still a good thing. You mean Apple is going to continue doing what they've been doing with release like High Sierra, Snow Leopard, Mountain Lion, etc, where they focus on performance? They've done the same with iOS too. This is nothing new.
Agreed. I would rather have something delayed to make the software experience better for the user, as that is the most important aspect long term.

This. I was happy to hear iOS was getting a refinement release. Not as happy about the Mac rumor.Isn’t that what the past 3 years of MacOS updates were supposed to be?
So they can't redesign the home screen layout AND fix bugs under the hood at the same time? Remind me again...are we talking about a small software company or is this a company with a couple hundred billion dollars cash in the bank?I mean, if they can't walk and chew gum at the same time, sure, fix the issues under the hood first -- many of which have been plaguing iOS for several years (basically since iOS 7) -- frame drops, inconsistent UI, etc.

I really can't think of a single thing regarding macOS that became better in terms of stability and performance since Apple started to hand out a "brand new" OS "for free" on a yearly basis.
I´d rather have a $30 Snow Leopard than a free High Sierra..
In spite of issues/problems/bugs as noted above, I still find MacOS easier, faster, and more functional to use than Windows 10, notwithstanding major improvements on that side of the software "aisle". Given that each OS works on the foundation of millions of lines of code, I wonder what the ratio is between 'successful operations' and 'fails'? Perhaps 99.99999 to 1? Yet we still yearn to complain; how human. In this context, perhaps "stale" just means "stable".....or even "it just works".
There was a year Apple delayed updates to Mac OS X because it was all hands on deck in the iOS department. Apple even announced it.How many software programmers and engineers are on the apple payroll? Twenty? Can a focus of this nature slow down all other departments??? Wow. Simply, wow.

Wasn’t High Sierra supposed to be the release that eschewed new features to focus on quality? Where’d that get us?
