The pencils they are holding would be the perfect companion for a new Samsung Galaxy Note, not as prize, as a screen pen!

Uh oh! after this, watch out for the new Samsung pen design...

All of them in the same airplane? Quite some risk taking from a business continuity point of view...
(for some other F500 companies, definitely a NoGo)

I hope they took separate flights. A plane crash would be "The day the design died" Bye bye Mr. Apple iPhone, took the lighting connector to the iPhone but the iPhone was charged...

I love how you guys act like you know anything about what good design is. What a joke. I'm sure some actual designers by trade post here, but most of you are just silly groupies who don't know s*** about design, good or bad.

Dress code

On the plus side, them men appear to have their shirts tucked in. However, do they all need to wear exactly the same suits and ties? I suppose there's something to be said that they all look like a sports team, only in suits, but you would think that designers would have their own flair, particularly at an award reception.

Tim has spoken: No one on stage can wear a belt, or tuck in their shirt; If you receive an award in public, pick one outfit, copy and paste.

Black always looks good. New Yorkers know it. Most sensible people know it. Save the gaudy and frilly, attention-seeking crap for people like Lady Gaga.

looks like a great team, and most certainly creates good working environment. best wishes for all of them.

I love that Ive's is such a stereo typical English guy (both in his looks and his voice), it adds to his charm and makes him a likable guy in my opinion.

So only designers by trade can know what good design is? Isn't that a bit snobbish?

"the best brand and the best design studio of the last 50 years"

Wait. What? They deserve awards, but "best" of the past 50 years ?!?

Dieter Rams and Braun are one example of an arguably much more influential designer group over most of those decades.

Jon Ive himself has only been designing for twenty years and much of his work was heavily influenced by Rams.

Sounds more like an attempt on D&AD's part to get publicity.

Well the D&AD has a dress code for starters.

As for their "co-ordinated outfits" (leaving aside the fact they look like sombre cabin crew), just be thankful they weren't in matching Miyake turtle necks. Jobs tried that company policy let's not forget.

Have you heard this one? 15 white guys and two token women walk into a secret design studio :(
