Thing is, if you wait til Nov 25th to order an Apple Watch, you might not get it by Christmas?

The fact that they are doing this so late in November kind of defeats the purpose of getting your holiday shopping done before the crowds and the lines grow bigger. In my case, being winter, the parking lots get full which means long cold walks, so i prefer to go earlier if i can.

The average consumer won't know about this policy and will either wait till late December or not buy anything on black friday just to get the ability to still return an unwanted gift.

They should have kept the old date but excluded their high end products ($2500+)

The return period has already begun here in Australia!

If you order online, the holiday return policy still applies as it would an in-store purchase.

You also stated you don't plan on scratching it, but the point is, if you do inadvertently scratch it, you will be denied the return.

Hence:

"Apple products can be opened and used prior to the return date, but must be returned undamaged with the original packaging."

To be fair Apple are pretty relaxed about it - I used an iPhone 7 in Jet Black for a week to see how badly it might scratch up without a case and it was indeed covered in micro abrasions - they accepted the return just fine.

Apple has updated its website. Turns out it starts today. The info I was given via phone was clearly wrong.

Apple's website says most products and accessories purchased between November 15, 2017 and December 25, 2017 will be eligible for return until January 8, 2018 in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong, Japan, and select other regions.

The dates are slightly different in a few countries, including Italy and Spain, where most products and accessories purchased between November 15, 2017 and January 6, 2018 will be eligible for return until January 20, 2018.

Makes sense. Thanksgiving is next week and most stores are already starting promotions.

Yes, I was told when I bought my JB 7+ this year, if you want to exchange it for another color within the return window, no problem.

I do not know how this would apply to the watch, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were okay about it.

BTW, glad they changed the holiday returns window to today through 1/20/18. Will have to remember the dates if I replace this iMac next year. I never took advantage of this and I should.

Apple has confirmed that its annual extended holiday return policy begins today in the United States and several other countries around the world.

Apple products that can be returned include, among other things, the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. The few items that cannot be returned include Apple or iTunes gift cards. Apple products can be opened and used prior to the return date, but must be returned undamaged with the original packaging.

When making a purchase at an Apple retail store, we recommend that you ask for a printed or emailed copy of your receipt. Both printed and emailed receipts will indicate the return date for each product purchased, while Apple also lists the cutoff date under the "Your Account" section on its website.

All purchases made before November 15, 2017 are subject to Apple's standard 14-day return policy in the United States and most other countries.

Update: Apple's website now says its extended holiday return policy begins November 15, 2017. A previous version of this article listed November 25 as the start date, but evidently that information relayed by an Apple support advisor was inaccurate. All dates in this article have been updated.

[doublepost=1511800429][/doublepost]THIS POST IS NOT CORRECT

This post says that if it was purchase between these dates that it is eligible for return by January 8, 2018. This is absolutely incorrect and will make certain people ineligible to return. The term apple uses is received. There is a huge difference here. I ordered my iPhone X on October 27, 2017 and received it today, November 27, 2017 which would make it eligible to return through January 8, 2018. The way you wrote this post, I would be under the 14 day rule. You may want to update this.

The Apple Return Policy from their site says the following:

Holiday Return Policy
Items purchased at the Apple Online Store that are received between November 15, 2017 and December 25, 2017, may be returned through January 8, 2018. Please note that all other terms and conditions provided in the Apple Online Store Sales and Refunds Policy are still applicable with respect to such items purchased. All purchases made after December 25, 2017 are subject to the Standard Return Policy.

Both printed and emailed receipts will indicate the return date for each product purchased, while Apple also lists the cutoff date under the "Your Account" section on its website.

I could not find the return date on my emailed receipt. Could anyone tell me how to find the cutoff date in the website?

Bump this thread. Anyone heard of when the holiday return policy starts this year? I assume it’ll be similar to last year. B&H started their holiday policy on 11/1.
