Of course they care about this level of precision for a building as much as for a phone: the stick up their rear ends is precise in length to the nanometer.
Gotta love intelligent debate.

It's an anecdotal case to illustrate something bigger. Surely everyone working with iOS, Mac OS regularly has come across their share of annoying bugs and glitches.
Nope.

Of course the same person responsible for fixing bugs in iOS is also in charge of supervising construction of the new campus.

And also the Mac Pro. There is some concern that he has too much on his plate. But he keeps saying it is fine, so Cook has decided to not delegate any of his responsibilities to someone else.

You missed out the Apple pencil and Magic Mouse charging shots, and the collection of docks, dongles and new cables you need to use a 2016 MBP with existing peripherals.
Both products take from 20 seconds to 1 minute to charge a full days worth.

If you want to keep your devices constantly plugged for longer doesn't that negate the point of it being wireless?

Try again

Glad Apple has taken a no compromises approach to the construction of this new campus. It's just fantastic. I can't wait!

Form over function, again with Apple. I'm sure they think they've thought through how wonderful everything is going to be, but we'll see how reality squares up with their expectations. I wouldn't be surprised if this place turns out as soulless as Levis Stadium a few miles away. They'd be better off building thousands of small garages for their employees to directly drive into, doubling as their offices. It'd be truer to their history and probably inspire more creativity. Good luck hatching the next big "one more thing" in a beehive, Borg ship, vanity project. For God's sake just leave the safety signs that everyone is used to seeing instead of putting your employees lives in danger when the next inevitable earthquake strikes again.

"1/8 of an inch" - JUST SWITCH TO THE METRIC SYSTEM ALREADY!!
If you figure out the imperial system and learn it quickly with no errors
I'll switch to metric

You can't just switch systems at the snap of fingers, I've been using Celsius for months (coming from F) and I still don't understand it (I know the formula, but I can't say it's 20C so it's kinda hot outside)

USB C is a great port. If you buy a MacBook Pro you will be happy in a few years that it has all USB C ports because everything that "Pros" use will go in that direction eventually.

I suspect the next iMac will have mainly just USB C ports as well. And it might be all USB C as well even though there is plenty of space to put the other ports. The MacBook Pro's ports will seem like a non-issue by 2018. And this is a computer that is powerful enough that it should atlas be used for five years and possibly as long as ten years. It needs to be future proof. The ports will help that.

Well, you're obviously living in a fantasy world then. Enjoy.
I am a heavy pro user. OSX Etc are intuitive and well thought out.

The only reservations I have are over Apple Music which could be much better laid out. I have not however, come across one of your 'bugs'.

So no, my world is very realistic and far from fantastical, though some of the comments here really make me doubt that.

I sure would want to have a (physical) tour of the place sometime.
Hopefully they will have a 15-20 minute presentation in one of their Apple Events.
Interesting. I couldn´t care less about a place i will never work at and that is not meant to be accessible for the public.
But ok, the interior design might be quite nice, while the outside is well....rounded and it was perfectly clear from the beginning it would exactly like it does now.
To be honest it LOOKS quite boring to me, although I am sure that very interesting architectural approaches have been made.

A building, although very important in enhancing ambience, is made soulful or soulless by the people that inhabit it. Just like when you go out, it's who you're with rather than where you're at.

The campus has been built to inspire and increase collaboration between departments.

Maybe the soulless buildings in your experience have been derived from the company you kept there.

What it points out is nothing is perfect and can be made perfect. That doesn't mean that Apple does not have a lacking of attention to detail because over the course of many years there are some annoying glitches here and there to some people. That's all I'm pointing out.

Triton, come on man. You obviously know @theluggage is talking about the location of the charging ports - since this discussion is about attention to detail - and not about charging time. The deflection is unnecessary. The stylus sticking out at a right angle from the iPad and the port on the bottom of the mouse aren't evidence of attention to detail.

I take this snark in good humour, this actually made me snort out loud.
