With experience in corporations, I'm reading between the lines of her career here that she isnt very good at her job. Comes in, does a few years and not makes a change for changes sake, moves on.....see it all the time.

airbnb should be declared illegal here in Amsterdam the Netherland where I live. In fact, the local government seriously considers that. Airbnb is turning great cities into open-air museums for tourist instead of places where actually locals have a chance to find payable rooms for themselves.

The local government in Barcelona allegedly declared Airbnb illegal, God thanks for that.

Airbnb is a good example of how greed leads to lack of interest for negative outcomes for the people that actually live in an area. The very same counts for Uber which should also be declared illegal. A big part of Uber services has already been declared illegal here in Amsterdam. Quite rightfully. In Holland, taxi drivers are bound to get special licenses which improve the quality of services as well as the safety for the clients. What airbnb and Uber has in common is the fact that they both ignore installed rulings from local governments, rulings Whom are responsible for not letting things get out of control.

She single handedly ruined the Apple store experience.

The last time a machine I had failed I called their support.

Their support tried to book me a time at the local Apple Store but couldn't because of changes she implemented.

Instead I was told I had to get to the store before opening, my name would be put on a list and I would be called sometime in that business day to then return to the store to be seen.

I turned up, a queue of other people in the same position. When they got to me they said try again tomorrow. I asked why and was essentially told the new retail boss wanted queues outside the store and didn't like the online booking system. She wanted people to just be able to drop in and see someone.

Obviously that was really dumb and was never going to work. She essentially broke a system that had worked for years, for no good reason. Turned the local Apple Store into nothing better than a PC world where instead of even discussing a warranty repair, they just try to sell you the new model.

Unhappy at Apple so quits and immediately starts working at Airbnb
Her signing bonus at Apple was north of $70M, and after five years her stock options were unlocked and in the money big-time. Why do you assume she left unhappy?

Good! Maybe she can convince them to change their logo. It looks like a pair of truck nuts.

That was fast, appears she is in demand. Good luck Angela.

board of directors isn't really the same as a daily C*O job. which fits with the rumors that she wanted to retire and not work for the forseeable future.

Maybe she’ll force anyone wanting offering the service to replace furniture and beds with wooden boxes

A message to the Airbnb board members...

until their customer "service" reps start to care any for their customers, nothing will help airbnb. as soon as there is a healthy competitor i and everyone i know will close our accounts.
I believe Marriott is exploring this type of business. Once that is done. Bye bye air bnb.

Do Airbnb have much retail? Seems odd.

Nope. But they needed a high-profile female to please the political liberal and mainstream America, so she fits.

She’ll be useless and probably help to somewhat ruin the company, as she did the Apple store experience.

But yay, equality! It’s our strength!

Well I guess there's no retail spaces for her to screw up.

So true. But she’s a successful female! She can do anything, run any company, she SHOULD, actually! Don’t you know there are only a few dozen women leading Fortune 500 companies? Do you think that’s fair? *laugh emoji* /sarcasm

Not sure how you made that correlation. There aren't many people in the world with her type of experience. I'm sure she has a constant flow of job offers.

That’s the problem. Experience doesn’t always necessarily mean education, growth, intelligence, learning, adapting.

Sometimes you’re just throwing people into things and seeing what sticks. Do that enough, and it’s called a resume.

In my opinion, Angela ruined the Apple store experience. Almost every single change she initiated, snowballed into a horrendous effect on customer satisfaction.

She failed, miserably, at her job. But it looks great on paper.
