I have a 15" MBP, 2 160 GB iPod classics, Apple TV, 1TB Time Capsule, wireless keyboard, wireless trackpad, iPad 1 and other Apple goodies so I was/am firmly entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. I switched to a SGS3 about 7 weeks ago from a iPhone 4S, I do not feel in anyway disconnected from the collective hive, I prefer my new phone and am still able to sync all the things I did before with my 4S, albeit with a bit of setting up at the beginning, which was simpler than I imagined. Would I go back to an Apple phone? Not at the moment, my setup works for me, I will of course look at the new iPhone but TBH and IMHO, it will have to be really spectacular to upstage my S3. I'm hoping it is.

I was really worried before I switched, that worry was unfounded.

I've tried to leave Apple on many occasions. Tried almost every Android phone on the market.

While the Galaxy s3 is a damn nice phone. It still lacks the polish of the Iphone.

And I use an ipad and Imac/macbook daily. So it's just not gonna happen now....

I can't wait for the new iphone.

While some points might be valid you clearly tried too hard to come up with some bogus claims. iPhone 4S has quite average battery life time by modern standards. More powerful LTE phones (like SGS 3) these days have same or better battery life time. Unicode support and handwriting? Good luck explaining to most people what this even means and why they should care.

I am not aware of any modern smart phones that come without FaceTime-like applications. There is absolutely nothing special about Face Time (in addition to the fact that few people really care about this one either). Google's cloud services are probably a bit better than the ones iOS offers. Android Jelly Bean is just as smooth and stable as iOS (perhaps even a little better at both aspects in part because of more powerful hardware).

Playing games on 3.5" screen is a rather sorrow experience, is not it?

For mini games, i love iphone, for aaa games like infinity blade, nova, maxpayne etc, we can put it on the ipad.
