Still nothing here for me in Canada. I’ve tried refreshing the software update screen, killing the home app and relaunching and restarting the phone. I’ve even rebooted the HomePod a few times and nada.

I haven’t been able to update to version 12.1-tried what was suggested in the update to the original post. All I get is that I have the latest version of HomePod (12.0).

How to Update the Software on Your HomePod
  1. Open up the Home app.
  2. Tap on the arrow in the upper left corner of the display.
  3. Tap "Home Settings."
  4. Select "My Home" or "[My Name]'s Home" if you've changed the name of your HomeKit setup.
  5. Scroll down to "Software Update."
  6. Pull down from the top of the iPhone or iPad screen to check for an update.

Thanks. As mentioned I tried this previously.

I finally ended up disconnecting my HomePod and restarted my X. Upon doing so the 12.1 update showed up.

No update here until I turned *OFF* the automatic update, then it became available.

Well, that's a drop in a bucket compared to everything else they make, and only an estimate. Perhaps "how few people have HomePods" was the wrong language. Perhaps I should have said "how few people use their HomePods."
How many people use their HomePods, and how few worry about software updates.

If  doesn’t release the HomePod soon in my country I’ll be looking for some other speaker. And probably save some money.

They've already tweaked the sound multiple times through many different updates. I have to say that it sounds way more balanced than what it used to when it first launched. However, I haven't tried 12.1 yet, but I like the sound in the previous update.

Many different updates? There’s only been about three hasn’t there? Personally I found the biggest improvement was to buy a second HomePod. The stereo effect makes a huge difference.

Mines showing no update to 12.1. I’m running 12.0. Rebooted phone and HomePod no go.

Strange.

Me too. Updates phone iOS to 12.1 but Home still NOT showing 12.1 available for HomePod. Seems a bit random who can and cannot update

Can you take a screen shot of the HomePod settings in the home app and post it so we can look at it?

I went into the home app and removed the HomePod. Then set it up again. After a couple of tries with refreshing the software update iOS 12.1 FINALLY showed up and is installing now. 3.05 G is quite a large update which I wasn’t expecting.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I refuse to update the software for this device given the feedback about the changing EQ for the Bass on it in the first update. I don’t want software to mess with a decent hardware device. Anyone else not updating theirs?

I actually think 12.1 sounds much better than 12.0. The bass doesn't sound quite as boomy. Middle and high frequencies seem crisper and clearer. I quite like this update so I'm glad apple fixed the download problem so that I could get it.

Before apple enabled stereo pairing you could manually set 2 up in stereo with airfoil - and also manually tweak the EQ that way too. I used to do this to turn the bass down and turn middle and high frequencies up. You can still do this if you unpair the homepods first. I wrote about that here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/stereo-homepods-without-the-update.2106948/

12.1 actually sounds like how I used to set them up with airfoil before apple's version of stereo pairing became a thing.
