cool, so stop ********ting and release iBeacon already Apple! Oh wait, you'll take three years to release it so it "just works" when it's released. Meanwhile, Android has had the same thing and it works fine.
Again, as a software developer I can assure you that Android doesn't have the same. Of course Android devices can listen to Bluetooth. However, an iOS application designed to react to iBeacons can do so without using any power or RAM whatsoever until it enters the range of a beacon that it is designed to handle, and Android isn't anywhere near.
