So, an app I run that specifically tries to write to an iCloud calendar continued to fail this morning, -but resolved by deleting an app specific password on iCloud, and creating a new one for the app to use. Hopefully with a bit more stability going forward.

Yep, logging out without being convinced you’ll be able to log back in with everything working could end up causing far more issues.

Yes!

Though on the plus side I did briefly go into the recovery menu and considered a reinstall... That could have been a world of pain with iCloud down! ?

Thankfully I checked here first! ?

Not working here in the UK (15:25 GMT), hasn't been working since last night for me.

MBP, iPhone and watch prompting me constantly to update my Apple info. MBP seems to be accepting it, although it's prompted me three times today (it seems to be when it locks itself) so I don't think it's sticking.

Getting a mixture of errors or extended progress wheels attempting to re-enter my Apple ID password on my phone. Have only tried it once on my watch because I have a long Apple password that I usually enter with 1Password, which is impossible to do on the watch (even using the iPhone to enter text, as prompted, doesn't let me paste it in). Sometimes the phone prompts me to enter my passcode, and tells me that it will "replace my iCloud security code" (or something). Usually it doesn't even get that far.

Reluctant to sign out of iCloud completely on my phone in case I can't get it back on again.

I'm a bit worried that Apple considers this to be fixed and we're left in limbo.

Yep, similar here. Stopped working around 10ish last night.

Definitely not going nuclear and signing out unless I can be sure of being able to sign in again. Just goes to show how reliant we all are on iCloud in the Apple ecosystem. This feels like a fairly catastrophic single point of failure around authentication.

At least Apple Support acknowledged it. I also told them they should really update their status page.

The pings to update it on the watch really are quite obnoxious. They sound like text messages and are relentless. And as said if you have a complex password then I have no idea how you're supposed to enter it without losing your mind.

I'm praying that when this gets sorted out my watch will automatically pick up the re-authenticated state from another device.

Tentatively I can say that I've been able to enter my password on my iPhone and watch (via iPhone - painful) and it seems like its accepted it, just now.. but I imagine it'll fall over again soon.

EDIT: Lol nope, still broken.

NYC here, not working still. my Mac mini was finally able to log in, changes in apple spreadsheet Numbers syncs successfully but takes 3 minutes to upload 1 mb file. phone and ipad still cant log in

Same here in GA, USA. Been happening since around 6pm Eastern last night. Apple's status page shows all as green, and that clearly is not the case. Typical Apple...
Indeed. Very typical of the company.

If there is one thing I wish Apple would get to grips with it is their pathological inability to acknowledge problems.
"Problem? What problem? Can't you see it's fixed?"

It helps no one.

Still getting Apple ID Verification Enter the password for 'myappleid' in Settings message on my iPhone. It's weird that iPad accepted the password I entered and the message went away just minutes ago. I haven't checked my MacBook yet. It's 8:13am PST now.
