I´m guessing there will be a price drop on the iPad Pro, Apple needs more volume on these to get devs interested.

It´s basically been $100 - 150 off since launch so I´m guessing they're not flying off the shelves..
I´ve seen quite a lot of returned units in stores and a lot of youtube reviews that end with: "Maybe next Rev."

This is great - I would happily switch back to the smaller iPad but only with Pencil support - that has been a real boon for me editing reports and taking notes.

It's a 12" 5mp screen. That costs.

Why is the 27" iMac so much more expensive than the 21.5"?

The price tag of the 21.5" in comparison to the 27" iMac is justified by the 5k screen.. As well with the option of dedicated graphics. The 21.5 inch doesn't offer that.

I understand the 12.9" has bigger screen. I get that. But for $300 bucks. Normally Apple market their products where the larger screen has better features. Apple tend to differentiate it to the point that get customers to gravitate toward the larger screen.

If anything... I saw the 9.7" having 3D touch support, but Apple Pencil & Smart Keyboard support. At this point... I'm starting to think that they will perhaps give up on the 12.9" in favor of the 9.7" if they go this route.

if it's $499, it's going to be awesome...

No way it's going to be exactly like the 12.9" model but only $499. Can't charge $300 more for just a bigger screen. My guess is this is Apple's attempt to reset the iPad line and thus reset sales expectations. And they'll keep the mini around for people who want a cheaper super portable iPad.

That doesn't make any sense because the issue is software, not hardware. You don't need new hardware to get software improvements.

They're going to give up on something that has been on the market for less than a year and hasn't had any major software updates yet? Why?

If all this rumouring pans out ... there may be buyer's remorse for a lot of those 12.9" iPP purchasers.
Not for THIS purchaser. I love the huge screen on the 12.9" iPad Pro.

I regret buying the Pencil. I haven't used it much at all. I used to enjoy drawing, and I thought the Pencil would help me get back into it. But I don't have time to draw. That's on me, though.

I do see a price drop for the iPad Pro.. if they add the same features to the iPad Air line. I don't think the devs are really interested in more volume.. not that it's a bad thing. But I tend to think it's more of a bigger picture. The flawed idea that the iPad is just a bigger iPhone & investing in a platform that doesn't have trials in the App Store.

Nah, I think entry will be 32GB @ $599/128GB @ $699 WiFi only or possibly 64GB @ $699/128GB @ $799. If all this is true, there's no way this Ipad Pro Mini or whatever is going to be at the same launch price as the Air 2.

The MacBook Pro "without" Retina is just a holdover product that isn't actively marketed. My guess is so will be the Air. It will just be MacBook and MacBook Pro longer term.

I don't see the point of 3D Touch on an iPad form factor. It's designed as a quick way to get to things with one finger - useful when you're on the move like with a phone.

But i absolutely see a use for pencil support on a device likely to sell in much larger volumes than ipp. That's good for developers supporting the pencil too.

if true, Apple gets an unreserved thumbs up from me!

If they can pair this with a strong refocus on their software in iOS 10, I might rekindle some of the excitement I had for Apple circa 2005-2010!

What's apples justification for bumping the entry price up $100? Just so you have the ability to spend another $100 on a pencil or $130 on a keyboard cover?

Their previous models have tended to keep the same price and add features or performance. So that would suggest they'd keep the pricing the same.

Oh wow, if they don't go completely insane (then again, I live in Europe and the Dollar is strong) with the price, my iPad 3 finally gets to retire. However, with the Apple vs. FBI case going on, I wouldn't feel bad about giving a couple of extra Euros to Apple.

Because they can't justify $300 more for just a larger screen? Unless they're dropping the price of the 12.9" iPP?

I'm somewhat surprised. Not the branding... but of the Apple Pencil & Smart Keyboard Support.

Reason being... price tag of the iPad Pro is justified by the Apple Pencil & Smart Keyboard Support. What is the justification of the 12.9" iPad Pro price tag in comparison of the supposedly 9.7" iPad Pro? A $300 price hike just for the bigger screen? Granted the 9.7" starts out at 16gb and the 12.9" starts out at 32gb...

I just don't understand the logic behind it. People aren't looking for better hardware... they are looking for an iOS geared to take better advantage of the iPad screen real estate And perhaps support for USB-C.

You don't see the logic behind one with a screen almost twice the size? Well, do you see the logic of having a 13" Macbook Pro and a 15" Macbook pro? And the screen size difference there is not as great. Split screen apps on the Pro are almost "regular iPad sized". Ones on the Air 2 are compressed and like having two iPhone + apps.

I don't think USB C will hit the iPad, but I could see supporting a mouse pointer to some extent in iOS 10 (for business apps when in "laptop-like" mode on a table). But what do you think Apple is going to allow plugging in with usb C that they don't already?
