Lmao no. The thing is $1000 man ($930+tax), for $300 more you can just get a Pro Max with double the storage, bigger, better screen, better chipset, better cameras, same battery life. No wonder it sold like an iPhone mini lol. It's just straight up a bad deal and a bad phone.
I’m glad you think that way. That way I make more money 😀👍

literally every time I pull mine out and turn it on it works apps don’t crash It gets the job done and it keeps me happy, rarely have hardware issues I have insurance for such a scenario
Everyone on this site can disagree or agree. It really doesn’t matter, but are you on this site with an android phone? Come on somebody is. Not me

For all the "doom" and "failed to innovate" talk, nothing has changed as Apple is still far and away dominating with the iPhone as usual.
Keep in mind that tech blog forums are so far away from reality they don’t even register on the relevancy scale. The internet in general is a hellscape of hate and negativity. How many times has Apple been described as having one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel? Frustrated people who have failed in their jobs and lives take out their anger on successful people and companies. Negativity attracts clicks and comments, simple as that.

Yeah it's hard to overstate what a an overpriced boutique novelty the rest of the tech industry saw the iPhone as.

A word of caution though - with the advent of GenAI, Apple now finds itself in Nokia and RIM's (Blackberry) position - an absolute titan that like these companies, could bleed market share over the next 5 years if it doesn't sort out it's AI capabilities - and fast.

I've said this a few times here and various people have sneered at me.

But like you've pointed out, Nokia were huge in 07 - they completely dominated the consumer handset space with a huge huge market share (with BB winning the corporate world).

But by 2012, both were on their knees.

Dramatic changes can happen fast in the world of tech
AI is going to be a commodity much like machine learning. It’s not going to be the provence of a couple of rich companies in the future. In that way Apple is not like blackberry or Nokia.

Ok. If so why has Apple fallen on their face ?

Ok that was 2007 it’s now 2025
Things move on.
Some other companies also produce really good devices as well
Absolutely other companies produce really good devices.

My point was that when Apple announced their first phone, they were dismissed by the industry at large. History, however, has shown Apple did indeed know what they were doing which, as demonstrated aptly by the report from the OP, wasn't just a flash in the pan. It's consistent excellency in the product space over decades. Other companies do this too, obviously, but it's interesting to look back at how people respond to a new player in a big market like that.

It's clear Apple understands this as well, given the internal shake-up that's happened over the last month or so. While that change in leadership happened too recently to pay big dividends just yet, it's clear Apple isn't blind to the reality that AI is going to be a huge force in the telecom industry.

Like windows? 😂😂😂😂 I use windows daily at work and it’s no where as close to be as reliable as Mac. While Mac isn’t perfect it’s way better that windows.
Yes, like Windows.

I do the same thing with any PC or Mac I buy: I create a USB installer of the latest available operating system release and do a completely clean install. This makes a big difference for Windows, IMO.

Windows 11 works incredibly well; I have no issues with it at all. In fact, I find it less annoying than macOS because it has fewer Cancel/Allow prompts. Updates are much less annoying on Windows because they don't take the system offline for 20 minutes at a time and, if I want, I can actually disable them (unlike macOS, which nags me and doesn't give me an actual cancel option in the notification).

Functionally all the same applications I use are available on both macOS and Windows. I don't even really notice a difference other than the shortcut key combinations (Command versus Control). My Windows laptops are just as fast as my Mac laptops. I don't know, for less money and more RAM and SSD but the same performance and software availability; it sort of feels like macOS has lost its edge.

Sure windows laptops will feel as fast as Mac when doing office applications and surfing the internet. It’s on demanding loads that a difference would be noticeable. To say that windows machines are as reliable is disingenuous. And this is from some one who has used a pc since the days of DOS before windows was even a thing.
