I feel like no matter how strong the glass is on the new phone, it will still be capable of breaking. Do you guys really think this iPhone 4 is indestructible? Of course it's gonna be able to break. It's probably a mm thick, compared to however thick helicopter windows are which will be much thicker and STILL breakable. No one makes products that don't break.

yeah i think ill just use my old case that holds all my iphones it just slips in. i never dropped any of my iphones any way and as for my dock ill file the side for it to fit instead of buying another one

I thought the bumper covered the back with a clear plastic... Not too sure about that though. They list plastic as one of the materials used in making the case on the :apple: site.

The only thing that bothers me about this is the fact that it's $30...are you serious Apple? it's not even a full case.

I'm just going to have the alloy band around my iP4 invisible shielded (clear bra). No power support film on front (for clarity), zagg invisi sheild on back (for protection) combo this time around.

The bumper protects the glass on the front and back. You can't drop or sit the phone on the glass with the bumper in place. It holds the phone above the surface. :D

I've had black Contour polycarb cases on both my iPhone 1st gen and my iphone 3G, and both still look like new. I have dropped both (especially in the gym) many times.

I can't wait for Contour to create a similar case for the 4G, but in the interim, I purchased the Meritline case for peace of mind. Meritline has seldom, if ever, disappointed me.

this must be the iband that came out for the 3g. it is that new polymer that is soft till it gets hit then hardens up to absorb the impact.
I tried one but it was too hard when it was soft and too bulky it made it hard to reach the buttons.

This is the exact reason i will be getting something similar to a bumper (but in not paying $29 for it!!) When i sit the phone on a flat surface, like my desk or nightstand, the bumper will keep the front or back from sitting directly on the surface. Since the glass is so hard (Mohr's scale 9), it would tend to scratch the wood instead of the other way around. A really good idea for some inexpensive color and panache (not that this phone needs any panache).

Besides the fact that it's $29... I highly doubt you can still put your iPhone on the dock with that thing on.

The dock is way more important for me. And Im not about to take it on/off all the time to use the dock.

I don't feel $29 is expensive. I have paid more than that for every iPhone case I have ever owned. If you don't want it... don't buy it.

I will be buying a Bumper case until the "right" case comes out. I'll probably go with a Crystal Air or Incipio Feather case eventually.

The black Bumper looks great on the white iPhone 4, but I can't stand the visible sensors on the front of the white iPhone. Back to black for me! (I currently own a white 3GS)

I dont care how "scratchproof" Apple will say this new iPhone is, I know without a doubt I will scratch the thing SOMEHOW if I dont buy a nice case such as my SwitchEasy that I had for my 3G.
