Almost have that just to fix the garden ..

I personally find it a refreshing, "Apple-related" news story. Additionally, I'm tired of the incessantly regurgitated rumors on Apple products and rather like that MacRumors branches out into other relatable news stories.

However, there are so many dead horses around here that they beat to death, I'm surprised PETA isn't asking to have this site shut down.

Kudos +1 :)

A better gesture would be for Apple to start a scholarship fund for those college students. Like if they are honor students, then Apple could give out a dozen scholarships/grants for students in the computer/tech majors. Students would need to apply and meet qualifications, of course.

Even a scholarship of say $5000 each goes a long way…. for a local community college in the USA. Local community colleges are way more affordable than major US universities (e.g. the University of California), so a grant/scholarship of $5000 will really help out those students tremendously.

Its business, why would they do that ? If they rent a car show room, do you expect Apple to fund cars for the show room staff ?

Not saying its a bad idea, just saying.

I wonder if they will ever have events 'outside the hive' like this once they finish their doughnut? How big is that auditorium going to be?

Initial plans pegged it at 1,000 seats. I'd say all non-WWDC events for foreseeable future will take place there.

One question, can somebody tell me about that white building they built before the iPhone event? They never mentioned it and it seems that we are all busy talking about the product. Thanks!

Before the white building, it was just a big courtyard with a medium sized water fountain in the middle with art work. The white building isn't there anymore, but now they're working on it for something. I am currently attending De Anza right now.

That's why they hired joe's wedding & birthdays streaming service, there was no budget left.

While very sarcastic, you are not that far from the truth. Like any college, the computer network infrastructure in De Anza has a lot that is lacking since it has no competition.

To this day, I keep on wondering why they went with De Anza College instead of putting a tent in the front parking lot of Infinite Loop.

They could have used the Apple "more bandwidth than God" fiber backbone they have tapped right into the PacBell trunks going along De Anza Blvd for a smooth video stream.

Whomever penned the deal with De Anza (was it an alumni?) for this launch, I'm sure they are getting a mark on their annual review for this one.

“surprise and delight that characterize”

It seems that every day I discover that yet another word has been mutilated with a z for an s. I'd like to see some pressing against this because it makes it difficult to read. I suppose that 'surprize' is going to be next.

...I'm sure they are getting a mark on their annual review for this one.

After all the WTFs that have gone on this fall, there should be a number of employees getting a mark on their annual review; starting with the B of D giving one to Cook.

Apple's September iPhone 6 and Apple Watch event marked the first time the company held an event at the Flint Center on the campus of De Anza College since the introduction of the original iMac in 1998.

Not true, MacRumors. There was an Apple Event at the Flint Center in October 1999 when they introduced the iMac special edition and iMovie.

I always wondered who would actually let Comcast, the company best known for not caring the slightest about their customers, be responsible for their home security...

and the fact their security call center is outsourced.

Call Center: lkjxljadl sadljsad lxkjxls
Person: Huh? My suitecase is broken into?
Call Center: aslkfdjsa sdfjlsadlds
Person: What?

A "disruption" fee...lol. I'm sure the college welcomed the "disruption".

Never underestimate the ability of a captive venue to make up fees just to collect more money.

I know several concert and band roadies that were threatened with arrest and show cancelation for some of the most ridiculous made up fees and taxes once someone with money comes into town. This is common in Eastern Europe and other third world countries.

Some of the worst I saw were...

* a social disruption fee for speaking a non-native language in the venue
* a hazard fee using electrical equipment that did not have the local power connector and used an adaptor
* the roaming fee for a cell phones crew numbers jacked up to 100 times the normal cost when using cells in the theater coverage area
* a diversity fee for hiring staff that spoke your language
* a non-standard vehicle fee using a tour vehicle with the sterring wheel facing the edge of the road

And on and on. Typically, it becomes a stand-off with the local Burgermeister Meisterburger looking to get cash, saying we do not have the money, Burgermeister threatening arrest, local tour sponsor getting into a fight with the Burgermeister, a delay in the curtain opening til a near riot starts, Bergermeister paid for something that the local tour sponsor handles and the the band finally taking the stage.

Then there is the equipment "confiscated" for whatever made up reason trying to fleece us as we leave town with it all happening again and this time the sponsor at the next tour stop getting into the drama.

Glad I just code now.

Probably because the streaming kept cutting out. But congratulations for sticking it out, true believer.

He was asking/unbelieving after this person posted this video about a possible explanation for the poor stream. If he listened for 30 more seconds at the point that the streaming expert said it could very well have been demand, he explained exactly why the Chinese audio cut in and the truck display.

It was not a web site issue as some had said since apparently Apple TV users had no issue. he did go onto say it could have still been Apple's fault. By not having enough failsafe servers or something.

I should have quoted ryansimmons323 with my reply.

Here's his post. Sorry don't know how to quote his reply in which he quoted the post ryansimmons323 made with the video

With regards to the last live stream, one 'expert' said it was the way Apple designed their webpage.

However, a lot of other experts have since doubted this and suggested that it was really down to the insane demand on the servers.

Here's a pretty sound technical explanation - http://youtu.be/sScqF2g4NSg?t=4m5s

Insane demand on the servers caused the Chinese translation lady's audio track to overwhelm the English track?
