Hopefully they can find a meaningful reason for this alleged product to exist before they launch it. At this point it would either be a me-too product or just iJewelry.

I don't think Apple will release the iPhone 6 and iWatch in the same quarter. The iWatch will have it's own spotlight in 2015.

I would greatly prefer to have the iWatch launch in Q1/2 of 2015. These past few years have sucked in terms of the product launch schedule.

Not a bad strategy to delay actually. There's a lot of noise in the wearable space right now...let it die down.

And by die, I mean fail. Let the Galaxy Gear, Pebble and Moto 270/360 all fail and then show them how a wearable should perform (assuming it's something revolutionary). If it simply is a notification device, then I don't really believe it'll gain mass traction like an iPhone.

I don't understand your comment, the ipad is not really selling well. Last I heard the numbers were not only going down but rather sharply.

Don't mix the subjects.
iPads might stop selling today, that wouldn't change the fact that people found a use for tablets.
A company like Apple has to release products even if there isn't much a request for them (you know, when Apple I and Apple II were released not many "needed" a computer). They HAVE to try to push the boundaries. Sometimes they fail (Newton) sometimes they don't (iPad).

same here. I find plausible that Apple tried to investigate on a new, more complex product than a smartwatch. Then when they finally got to the requirements, they bumped up the hiring process, and the product developement.
Time will tell, but I believe that the iWatch is going to be very different than a "watch with a cool screen and sensors".

I find it hilarious that people don't understand that Apple is constantly hiring people for all of their products including the iPhone. You see it turns out that Apple STILL HIRES PEOPLE for future iterations of it's devices. It's so simple to understand you'd have to be hit in the head with a hammer to not understand it. See they can still hire people for the second generation of the iWatch. It's not illegal to do so.

i'm not usually a conspirationist, but i strongly believe all these supposed leaks are nothing else than clever ways to raise the hype.
do people really believe an apple employee forgot a prototype of an iphone 4 in a bar? or maybe that's what started it all, they discovered it helped to get people interested in the product before its launch, since then (and that was even before the doubling down on security!) we always knew everything about the upcoming iphone in advance.

No I don't buy it because if that was the case they would have made sure more stuff from WWDC leaked. I have no doubt Cook and Co. would love it if nothing leaked but they also know it's impossible to police the entire iPhone and iPad supply chain and have resigned themselves to the fact that some things will leak.

Could turn out to be true

After all, Tim Cook had his "not-enough-iMacs-for-X-Mas"-moment in 2012 - I don't think he's going to have another one of those quasi-"paper-launches" anymore (MacPro doesn't count - it's not a mass-product, and the customers are used to waiting anyway...). Ever.
So, if the yields are not good enough or whatever other problem exists: he will simply not announce and not ship until enough can be made at a decent profit-margin....

Let me get this straight. Rumor, conjecture, and guesswork established a 2014 iWatch launch. Now that it may not be until 2015, it's a "delay." Gotcha. Nice headline, Macrumors.

I hate us.

If you don't know that it's not intended to be a notification device by now, there's no hope.

There is no watch. Apple are developing an implant that will pulsate in the palm of your hand when your time is up.

Personally, I understand that. But some guesswork - as long as it's not taken too seriously - is fine. I bet that most people are just talking about hypotetical scenarios (IF Apple is developing an iWatch, IF Apple is developing a new ATV, IF Apple is developing the iSpaceShuttle) which is not illegal either.

"Though Kuo has a solid track record when it comes to Apple rumors, he has provided inaccurate guesses at times." Something of a contradiction there.

They found that long ago, and if you don't know it by now then I feel bad for you. It's called biometrics. Let's say in the future you can prevent a number of life threatening events from happening because your biometrics are constantly being monitored. Hmmmmm seems like a good idea to me. Then again some people are far too stupid to understand it.

This is great news so now maybe Apple can focus on things that actually do exist. Seemingly, not much is going on at Apple except dinner parties and iPhones.

I'm nominating this for moronic comment of the day. Don't worry though, there are a bunch of others vying for it.

As Alphaville would say, do you really want to live forever?

Yay, delay once again

How can one call this a delay when no original release date has ever been announced? By definition, a delay is the time between the announced release date and the actual delivery date. Neither has occurred, so there is no delay.

Are you kidding me? ##

Now before you flip out on me and tell me not to commit suicide let me say I'm not suicidal and that's a joke.
