I can't wait. My body parts are ready.

Calm down dude, it's a watch. Not your lover.

Rumors on rumors on rumors.

I'll remember this method of reporting from newspapers, when they purport to report.

Rumors on MacRumors...go figure.

Samsung: My mind, my body and specially my ass are ready to be kicked

lol you guys are funny on how emotional you are when it comes to Samsung (and the article doesn't even mention them). But I'll give you credit, you didn't say "Samsuck" or "Samesong" like other's do on this site. At least you have some sense of maturity in you.

They are really hyping this up. Honestly I wasn't on board at first but some of the features sound pretty cool. Ill Be getting one as for sure as long as they open it to developers.

Many high-end watches have used kinetic energy charging for years. The question is, is that type of technology enough to keep this thing charged given the power that it requires to operate.

That's an interesting thought. I wonder if Apple explored kinetic energy charging or not.

I NEED a GPS chip. I literally wear my Garmin watch almost every day. All it does is tell the time and track my location/time/pace while running. If the iWatch can't do GPS then I'm screwed.

Because I will want one anyway...

And who wants to wear two watches?

I can't help but wonder... if the iWatch has wireless charging wouldn't it make sense to add it to the iPhone as well?

Before bed, you toss your watch and iPhone on the charge pad, etc... (or even better yet, be able to charge both over the air while on your person)

Dunno, just seems odd that one new product would have it but the flagship product wouldn't. Maybe for the 6S... ;)

:apple:

I seem to remember MANY years ago a watch that wound itself as you wore it. I assume there was a tiny weight or something that moved back and forth cranking just a little bit each time so you never had to wind it.

It would be interesting to have something like that where a tiny magnet moved back and forth through tiny coils charging a tiny battery. Dat would be cool.

Seiko has been making watches that charge in that manor for years. It's their 'Kinetic' line of watches.

Alternatively you can hang around at store checkouts and siphon power from the NFC payment terminal. Be sure to prepare a phrasebook of idle talk to not raise the cashier's suspicions. "So, do you come here often?"

I hope they wouldn't figure out what I was doing and then turn around and send me a bill for electricity usage! :p

If these latest rumors are true, my hopes are dashed of the iWatch being a "Moto 360-esque" design.

Wearables are one area where form slightly edges out function. If the thing doesn't look like something people will want to wear it won't succeed.

The only "main reason" for the delay is so that Apple can present it and all of its features in their own manner. Having a new product like this presented to the public via the leaks we see on the iPhone 6 would be totally unacceptable and unfortunately unavoidable.

It's not just for fitness tracking...

Genuine question: What is so exciting about this? What features are people looking forward to with this "iWatch"? Health monitoring? Is that it?

Or is it one of those "because Apple" things?

I think this is just the START of a new market/platform. Apple is very keen on entering the healthcare industry. Healthcare data is so fragmented, Apple wants to capitalize on a move to bring all that data together in a patient-centric way. Apple knows fully well that we don't need another fitbit. However if the device can not only track my daily stats but also carry important data to my doctor, no matter which doctor it is or how often I've been to his office, that will be something.

Frankly I think Apple needs to introduce a new AppleTV but call it the "iWatch" just to piss off the rumor site junkies.

iWatch should ship in 2015, if it was going to ship in 2014 Fall we'd have seen parts already. Apple is doing the same as they did with the first iPhone, announcing it way beforehand so we don't hear it from somewhere else first.

It seems this keynote will be almost as big as the 2007 Macworld. Seriously can't wait for Tuesday.

Why do you want to keep it on when you sleep?

I wear a watch, but I take it off when I'm at home and when sleeping. But, if I wanted to keep it on at night, where some people I know do, it would pose a challenge to get it charged and sleep well at the same time! :p

Ben Bajarin tweeted this today:

@BenBajarin: My knowledge exchange is ripe with new insights on Apple today… Seat belts may be required for the next few months.

Something similar was tweeted by Jim Dalrymple last week:

@jdalrymple: Holy **** people, hang on to your hats, this is going to be a wild ride.
