Why did they go with that camera bump, other phones are trying to eliminate it but apple has decided to enlarge it lol at least the reg iphone 17 kept the small oval bump

I chuckled when I saw the title, guessing they quoted from a Chinese source. In China we call Apple’s silicone case “Liquid Silicone”, referring to its manufacturing process where you use the silicone in a liquid state to make the cases. I think Apple has been referring to their cases just “Silicone”. Although since Apple likes to put “Liquid” in their marketing names such as “Liquid Retina” and “Liquid Glass”, it makes the “Liquid Silicone” name more believable.

I don't think Apple is super concerned about marketshare, and have been pushing into services as they know that hardware sales are going to start dropping. They have said as much.

It's just not an Apple thing, people are keeping their devices (phones included) longer and longer. I can easily see where the common phone upgrade time starts pushing 4 years. It's at 3, currently.
But with a drop in hardware sales comes a drop in services revenue.
