Apple's M3 MacBook Pro is seeing multiple high value discounts on Best Buy and Amazon today, with up to $1,000 off select models. This includes a new all-time low price on the entry-level M3 512GB 14-inch MacBook Pro at $1,299.00, down from $1,599.00, and a massive $1,000 discount on the high-end 16-inch model exclusively for Best Buy members.

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with Best Buy and Amazon. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Across the 14-inch M3 MacBook Pro lineup you'll find $300-$400 off every model on both Best Buy and Amazon. In regards to the Best Buy discounts, most these do not require a My Best Buy Plus or Total membership and are available to all customers. The only exception is the M3 Pro 512GB model, which has an extra $100 discount exclusively for Best Buy members.

If you're shopping for the 16-inch M3 MacBook Pro, we're also tracking steep discounts on every model at both retailers. The biggest savings will be found on the M3 Max, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD model at Best Buy, which is being discounted by $500 for all shoppers, and an extra $500 exclusively for My Best Buy members. This adds up to a massive $1,000 discount on the high-end 16-inch MacBook Pro, at the new record low price of $2,999.00.

There's nothing "Pro" about 8GB RAM. It's time for Apple to break the piggy bank and start defaulting to at least 16GB for a Pro desktop device. It's like they are sitting on a mountain of 4GB chips.
Maybe what Apple should do is make the 16GB model the default. Then when you configure the computer you can get a price reduction if you remove 8GB RAM. It would cost Apple nothing and shut down all the complaints that 8Gb is not enough.

I can just hear it now if they made 16GB the smallest amount you can buy "Apple is forcing us to buy more RAM than we need, it is nothing but greed."

Changing the default amount could make everyone happy.

But you know what? Most people who buy the "pro" are not pros. They are only shopping on Amazon and watching YouTube. For a large segment of buyers, the Apple M-series of any model is overkill.

Yet another sale? Did Apple pull an Osborne by announcing the M4 and all that AI goodness? Now nothing else will sell?
M3 is a very in-between generation. They’ve done this before but never telegraphed it so much. But we remember from stories here at Mac Rumors that the process node the M3 and iPhone chip are built on was a one-off. M4 will be here soon and stick around for years. M3 will disappear when M4 comes to Macs, probably soon.

And yeah, with M4 (Pro at least) will come 16GB RAM base for the AI stuff. If it doesn’t I seriously will be surprised. It’s beyond ridiculous at this point.

16 GB was the minimum on the M1 and M2 14/16" MBP's up until the M3 when the introduced this crippled machine

I feel like these have been on sale for record prices ever since they were released. Hopefully the M4 series will be a more enticing upgrade.

The best deals have consistently been--and still are--at Microcenter, if a store is near you and they have a configuration you'd like.
