My question is can it successfully land on a floating barge without toppling over? This is going to be the first Mac to break the $100,000 barrier.

Not at all. This high-end computer is for people who expect to use it to make money. It is like any other business investment.I’d have to sell my car, my house, even my wife if I’d want to buy this
I see you’ve met John Siracusa 😂Because there will always be people that need 1.5 TB of Ram! Trust me there will be that guy that will always say “you can never have enough RAM” 👌🙃
128Tb Is the sweet spotYou can never have enough RAM 😉
You won't get anything close to frontier, even for 100kI'd be willing to pay up to $5k for a Mac Studio that gave me enough memory bandwidth and context size to run a local LLM comparable to what I can get w/ OpenAI, Anthropic, manus, and openclaw. Sadly, I think we'll be looking at something close to $100k

Pretty sure a fully kitted out IIfx could break that. Before counting inflation. Possibly a Macintosh II or IIx. Since memory cost even more. This is going to be the first Mac to break the $100,000 barrier.
My feelings, and plan, exactly. They have missed the boat.I foolishly waited thinking the M5 Mac Studios would come out - and at this point, it'll be way too far into the release cycle (and with current price increases). I likely will wait for the M7 series.
With AI models, this is definitely true.Because there will always be people that need 1.5 TB of Ram! Trust me there will be that guy that will always say “you can never have enough RAM” 👌🙃
