15 bucks/month for 3rd rated football?
ouch!
In 2011, I saw one USSLFU game in Harrison, NJ (another ouch) and the fans were very obnoxious,
they swear at the keeper when he kicks the ball up the pitch,
"bad swear words!"

I used to think the same... It's better than it was. I would put it 2nd division (Championship) over in England.

Hopefully, they use this rubbish football league as a stepping stone for a bid for the Premier League could be good practice for the broadcasting infrastructure. Have to admit Amazon's Premier League coverage has not been too bad.

Worth mentioning, T-Mobile will be giving away free MLS Season Pass next week to their customers. So if you have T-Mobile, and are considering grabbing Season Pass, you might as well wait until Tuesday and get it for free.

That's great if you live in an area where T-Mobile has coverage. Up here (Alaska), they love to send nastygrams to their customers telling them to either stop roaming or leave T-Mobile entirely. Most of these customers are active-duty military, but that doesn't matter to T-Mobile...

Apple have brought in the guy that Amazon had who got them the Premier League rights a few years back. Make no mistake they will go for and get the Premier League rights, although it will remain to be seen if they get the domestic rights.
The EFL’s TV rights are up for renewal a year ahead of the Premier League though, and they are wanting to drop the Saturday 3pm KO blackout for domestic broadcast with every game being live on TV. It will be interesting to see if they manage it, because if they do then the Premier League will follow up.
The tech giants will also want worldwide 1 stop coverage as well.

They will want but extremely likely they won't get it. The tech companies won't overpay where as Sky in the UK&IRE will as without the Premier League they are finished. All we will get is more expensive bills to pay for it. The foreign TV rights could be up for grabs for the tech guys as they are so much cheaper and don't have any 3pm blocks like the UK. Exciting times are ahead and I feel that it's time the SKY/BT monopoly is challenged.

The 3pm blackout will go in the next 10 year in my opinion. Too many people are starting to use IPTV connections to watch the blackouts. It’s becoming easier to gain access too and harder to prevent.
If they don’t scrap it for the next round of distribution rights then it will be massive mistake.
Sky don’t have money to compete with the tech giants, they can over pay as much as they like, if the tech giants want it, then they’ll get it.
We have already seen Amazon put their foot in the door and provide coverage that fans are enjoying.

NHL, NBA, NFL and MLS should all be available on ONE platform, why not Apple TV? They have the money to buy them all...

I signed up for MLS Season Pass with the T-mobile freebie. I complained earlier that Apple spoil the final score in the app. I further discovered if I want to watch a previous match, I can only watch a recap!

Apple clearly aren't sport enthusiasts.

This is what I dislike about Apple sport coverage. They don't care about continuity or culture.

The ATV+ UI also needs improvement and would have already been fixed if they understood sport fans: There is no means to hide the final score! I went looking for the Orlando City match from yesterday.

I covered the final score, just as Apple should.

Settings > TV App > Turn Off Show Sports Scores

Been in place for years. Enjoy.

...but they are money enthusiasts. And presumably this will be another profitable venture for Apple. I had no idea when I flipped the switch on my first Apple //e to write some homework that one day I'd be having to pay the same company to watch sports.

I have been disappointed with most streaming services overall when it comes to sports. Nearly all of them charge too much, have suffered significant technical issues during key matches, and they have collectively eroded the quality of local coverage. The key flaw is that, regardless of what sport you watch, if you want to watch most of the games (especially across multiple leagues) you'll need to buy, two, three, or more streaming services. The value proposition of streaming over cable is at best a mixed success and arguably heading towards failure.

People totally underestimate the value of local beat reporters and radio/TV announcers. When the whole sport is covered by a single cadre of national-level pundits and 'personalities' (like that knucklehead Alexi Lalas), the coverage is all very glitzy yet blandly same-y.

Well, in terms of broadcasters, theres an option to listen to the radio broadcast if the team has a local radio broadcast. So we can still listen to Evan broadcast the games.

Great. I was planning to watch one of the games as replay this morning.

The UI shows the end score before you start the game. WHY???

And where is the setting on AppleTV hardware to turn off “Show Sport Scores”? I can find it on my iPhone but cannot find the setting on the AppleTV (4K first gen, latest sw).

Setting is missing from both of our AppleTVs.

But it’s available on the XBox’s AppleTV+ App.

Absolutely loved the coverage this weekend. The production value is a huge step up. Just one major hiccup this weekends. "Show sports scores" Wish this feature was turned OFF by default. Several game results spoiled on Saturday. After learning this lesson, I turned off "show sports score" on my iPhone. I stupidly assumed this would apply to my account globally. Went to watch the Seattle vs Colorado game, on my Mac, and the score was there in the icon. C'mon. Can't even find anyplace to change the in the setting on the desktop AppleTV app.

Nope. Our AppleTV 4K and older AppleTV box do not have this setting.

My iPhone and iPad has this setting and so does the AppleTV+ app on our PS5 and XBox.

Can someone please confirm if their AppleTV hardware has “show score setting” or not?

Maybe it’s missing only in some countries?

I agree if they want it but UK&I are a different story don’t get me wrong would love Apple or Amazon to take it but they won’t. Why limit distribution to only households with good broadband when you have guaranteed delivery by Satellite. Interesting times ahead.
