Black?? Could you imagine the dust and fingerprints. No thank you. As cool as black would look I'm glad they went with the colors they did.

If it's anodized/brushed alloy black won't be a problem. I agree fingerprints are a problem, but dust? I use mine too much for it to collect dust.

got my mine today its really nice, i just cant stand not having the exposé feature in the mouse.

hope new update ads it in somehow

Wow, you should try it, you'll like it. It's the way all mice should be made. The whole concept of touch, not tons of buttons is the appropriate design. Once again Apple leads the way.

That may be true for Mac users who are used to a one-button mouse, but converters from the PC side may be uncomfortable because the lack of a physical scroll wheel and left/right click buttons does take some getting used to, especially given Windows since Windows 95 take full advantage of the scroll wheel and left-right mouse buttons.

You're right it does take some getting used to. About 6 months ago, I decided to just use the trackpad. Was a PC person (professionally necessary), but finally was able to make money and run a Mac (Intel conversion).

I'm now using just a touchpad and it works tons better than using a mouse. Now that the mouse has touch, I'll give it a try too.

The only way to avoid fingerprints on a touch device is to not use it. Was that a serious post?? Maybe someone will make skins like the iPod/iPhone have, but that will be tricky with the shape.

I played with one at a Store. Very nice, the scrolling is better than any device I've ever used and I can probably survive the tracking speed, even with my unique needs.

The price seems a bit high for me with the current functionality, so I am waiting a bit. Specifically, I'd like to see tap functionality (that would be a good solution for you middle-clickers) and specific control over the acceleration curves for both movement and scrolling.

It finally came in today! Believe it or not, the apple remote arrived before the mouse!

First - check out the mouse carefully! The top surface of the one I received has scratches that are deep enough that they can be felt. It looks like it may have been set upside down on a hard surface and scratched before it was packed??

Second - when unpacking the mouse, do it slowly or the adhesive may stay on the bottom surface.

Third - when moving the mouse around on the desktop, the cursor randomly jumps all over the screen and does not move smoothly at all. My desk surface is opaque and the mighty mouse never had these issues.

I'll take it back to the Apple store tomorrow to see if they will exchange it!

Not sure if this is just a witty remark/sarcasm? But no Apple did not force me to turn in my previous mouse. They sold it to me with my new iMac. The point I was trying to make was that the wireless mice Apple now ship with the iMac no longer come with four buttons.

Maybe you are a fanboy/girl who dares not to say anything negative towards Apple? :) Think different.

So again, you are somehow forced to use this mouse?

My point was if it was black the fingerprints would show up and look terrible. Have you never been able to tell that black shows fingerprints???? I have the new Magic Mouse and use it quite a bit and can't see fingerprints.

Anyone else find Google Maps impossible to control with this thing? Zooming is really frustrating. Sometimes a little swipe does nothing, sometimes it gives you a nice precise zoom, and most of the time it zooms wildly in the direction you swiped (looking at a street in Manhattan, wanting a broader view of a few more blocks, and all of a sudden I'm looking at the northeastern US!)

I found it hard to use in yahoo maps. The slightest brush with the finger caused it to zoom way in or out.

I got the mouse a few minutes ago from the parcel service. I'll return it. The mouse looks nice, has nice features, but erconomic and usability is so worse ... Unbelievable. It's a design piece, not a daily peripheral you'd use for work.

I found that holding my finger on the mouse after the swipe-to-zoom maneuver (so as to prevent it from continuing to scroll with "momentum") makes it manageable, though still worse than using a normal mouse.

Hopefully apple can tweak this a bit with software patch, or maybe even add pinch to zoom!

Got mine last week. I was getting bad wrist pains using the trackpad on my Mbook Pro for logic and after 1 days constant use with the Magic Mouse im very happy both with its performance, ergonomics and feel and no wrist or hand pain! Once the expose feature, pinch zoom and app switch swipe modes are added it will be perfect. Very impressive bit of kit.

So I see mixed reviews..overall is it a step up from the mighty? I can get a new Mighty Mouse, or "Apple Mouse" as it's now called for $15..

Just got a new wired mighty mouse in the box on eBay for $6 and a wireless one for $15. I figured I can wait on the magic mouse with these blow out prices, plus I still love the mighty mouse:)

The magic mouse feels good for casual use it seems. I tried one out for a few hours and liked it, but as hard as I seem to be on my mice, $70 is a little high. Figured I would just wait until I update my iMac, but I am tired of cleaning those damn little scroll balls.

I just got one from my local Apple store and already love it.

The kinetic scrolling alone is awesome! It gives your mac a very iPhone-ish experience.

Love it!
