Ok I'm just stupid. It takes a while for the movie to load. Especially if you have instant-on set to immediate.

Cheers

the stream works for you? It gives me a page not found error when I try the direct link to the stream.

Ok I'm not doing too well tonight. for some reason i thought we were talking about a different stream that is on the AppleMusic website. I too have not been able to view the webcast. Sorry for my stupidity.

Ironic isn't it ...

... that the only place I was able to watch the live stream was on MSNBC.

Oh, and great news for Europe with this music service ... oh, wait a minute. Bloody hell. Apple have 3% market share, and only plan to make this service available to a percentage of that!

Disappointment.

Thanks for the link, sparks9!

Now that I've seen the webcast, I can sleep soundly, knowing my day is complete. :D

I havn't been able to stream any (apple) events in my QT since QT 6 came out... I have streamed some other stuff... just not from the apple website.

I had the same problem but just sorted it out

go to quicktime preferences / Streaming Transport, and change to use HTTP port 80.

go to / Streaming Proxies und make sure it says use system settings....I had it on use HTTP Proxy Servers and it never worked.

The streaming transport needs to be on HTTP cause it sounds like your firewall is stopping UDP, RTSP. Well thats what it was for me....hope it works for you too.

every time i try to watch an apple event from apple's website my quicktime always says "timed out" or "unsupported media". what's wrong?

Cool. I can't wait to get home and see if your sugestion will sort out my problem too.

BTW I ended up watching the webcast on msnbc with the windows media player... how ironic... I also was mad at myself because I thought I had trashed that app months ago.

ZDNet has a stream too

I had trouble using quicktime too, but I found that zdnet.com had a stream that worked just fine. Go to zdnet.com, click on the 'News' Tab, you'll find an article about Apple's announcements at the bottom, and a link to the video. Good luck.

Freezing Stream

On trying to see the webcast on Quicktime I come to a hold after 2 sec. with Steve standing on the stage and the "beachball" spinning and processor load at 90%. What is going on ?? was not able to see the event on QT so far!! on Media Player it was an unusable joke...

Any Ideas ??

What is wrong!!!!

I have yet to be able to connect.

I have the lastet OS, the latest QT 6.2, ... what am I missing? I have tried to configure my system preferences correctly according to some notes here.

Would someone PLEASE do step-by-step on how to set this up so I can watch this thing?

Please!
