All of you who wanted to wait for iPad 3? Well there it is... They have to skip "iPad 2" in order to compete with all the new tablets coming out soon.. So they need time to redesign and add retina and other stuff :D
Even if they skip iPad 2 altogether and release iPad 3 instead, it's still iPad 2 essentially, logically and theoretically.

this is a pretty lame rumor to post on macrumors. so far-fetched, the source has no reputation at all for this, so why would we give it any merit? come on people.

ipad 2 is weeks away.

Wait a second

This is the same guy that posted that posted that "Light Peak for iPad" crap last night.

iPad 2 is coming out in the next few weeks and that is final.
All of the re-sellers (US and Europe) are running out of iPads

What would cause the delay?
OH NO! I hope they are not releasing a white one!

Perhaps, these analysts' sources misinterpret what's going on. You see iPad 1 selling out in UK. Last commericials we saw was around Valentine. Today I saw Kindle commercial target the iPad. Apple may have stop production on iPad 1. They started new production of the new and a certain amount.

Hmm Let's see....

Their launching the Macbooks on Steve's birthday. Maybe they want to postpone this to launch at Steve's............

I wonder if Apple has decided to skip the prototype iPad 2 to go straight to the iPad 3. John Gruber had predicted an iPad 2 in April then a pro-like version with retina display in September. The iPhone on Verizon isn't likely doing as well as Apple hoped as many are waiting for June and the iPhone 5. It seems a lot of people were saying if there is no retina display in the iPad 2 they will wait for the third Gen. Apple could be doing this to speedup the retina display for the next iPad. It really makes more sense especially with the competition failing to bring real competition for the iPad. I would prefer waiting a few extra months for a retina display!

I wonder how long more do I have to wait for this iPad2 to pop out of the oven.

If it means a better (resolution) screen, I don't mind. I haven't bought an iPad myself yet because, while it's AMAZING for consuming video media (netflix, hulu, etc), reading text was pretty so-so IMO.

It better not be true. I sold my iPad 1 and I am going through some serious suffering without it

Still think they will release something in the US on time, may delay other regions because of capacity though. 7" ipad in September will probably have a retina display and coincide with the ipod refresh, therefore be an large iPod touch. They will need something to compete with book readers in the med. size space for Christmas. Even though I think it is indistinguishable, a 7" iPod or 7" iPad, I think Apple is marketing correctly so not to lessen the iPad and establish that tablets are defined as larger devices. This is probably to take advantage of the fact that the competition has not being able to compete with the iPad's price without defining a tablet as a smaller device. Just thinking out loud.
