I suspect that most of these writers and bloggers are merely lying meatbags. They write about whatever pops up into their empty brains. If they ever listened to themselves they'd realize they don't know what the hell they're writing about. One blogger writes that the iPads will be early, so another blogger has to write something to contradict it.

That's a reason that they are called ANALyst. This relates to the part which they use for thinking.

June 30th is the cutoff date for applications to be compliant with the in-app purchasing guidelines. Perhaps Apple doesn't want to release an iPad 2 months before knowing if major content providers will remain on the iOS platform for fear of backlash from customers? This gives them another 2 months to iron out problems with developers.

End of conspiracy theory :)

Too late, there is already a backlash from developers. I really don't think Apple cares about some deadline for guidelines, and based on what you are saying it would be smart of them to release it before this deadline to get as many sales as possible. The longer it takes, the more customers are "informed."

In reality these new guidelines actually benefit customers the most. Well in theory at least, in practice it still remains to be seen. Either way you are just throwing out random speculation and it has no backing. Apple has no reason to delay the iPad.

I wonder if Apple has decided to skip the prototype iPad 2 to go straight to the iPad 3. John Gruber had predicted an iPad 2 in April then a pro-like version with retina display in September. The iPhone on Verizon isn't likely doing as well as Apple hoped as many are waiting for June and the iPhone 5. It seems a lot of people were saying if there is no retina display in the iPad 2 they will wait for the third Gen. Apple could be doing this to speedup the retina display for the next iPad. It really makes more sense especially with the competition failing to bring real competition for the iPad. I would prefer waiting a few extra months for a retina display!

Love it when people take one unsubstantiated rumor to justify another unsubstantiated rumor. All this talk about 'Ipad 3' is ridiculous. Whatever comes out next is ipad 2, I don't care if it has a magic retina screen that shoots flying monkeys at you or not. Not to mention a 'rumor' saying the Ipad isn't coming out until June holds no more validity that one that says its coming out in April. Perhaps everyone should just invest the $500 that's apparently burning a hole in their pocket and invest in AAPL in the meantime.

Maybe if Americans built it instead of Chinese, it would get done quicker. I mean, a lunar calendar? No wonder they might be behind! In America, we use sunlight to see stuff because it's all brighter. It doesn't shock me that basing your stuff on the moon tends to lead to problems. It's just not that bright. Plus the Sun is like 400 times bigger. Bigger = better!

(If you get all pissy because you thought I was being completely serious, OMG take a chill pill)

Maybe a developer could ask Steve Jobs if the iPad 2 will be delayed or not or ask whether the latest rumor from Bloomberg is reliable or not. I guess Apple could send out invites to dispell this rumor.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :(:(

Please don't be true!!! I've already been waiting since before the first one came out!

I really hope this isn't true. The new iPad is going to be awesome! I can't wait!

Quite simple - this item was mole bait.

Hon Hai had suspicions that some one in management was leaking and let him get a peek of this fictitious problem. Bam! They got their man.

Even if they skip iPad 2 altogether and release iPad 3 instead, it's still iPad 2 essentially, logically and theoretically.

Precisely why I put quotations marks around iPad 2

All of you who wanted to wait for iPad 3? Well there it is... They have to skip "iPad 2" in order to compete with all the new tablets coming out soon.. So they need time to redesign and add retina and other stuff :D

Though I totally hate this news, (I'm also wanting to get the next iPad) I couldn't help but to think that this is plausible.

My question is what is the urgency for Apple to release a new version of iPad if the current one is still functioning well and still leads the market? None of the tablet, released from other tech companies, can be considered a threat to iPad's leadership so far. (Tab is small, Xoom is exp, Touchpad and Playbook are not out yet). (Note: I'm not saying they're bad, just not a threat)

It will be in Apple's interest to hold off the next iPad until the rest of the competitors have laid out their hands, and then come with a bang. So with all the rumors of high resolution display, different launching dates b/w April - September... I don't know, it might not be anytime soon. But I'm still hoping...

If I didn't know any better I'd say this story has been drummed up by some android or HP supporter hoping to get some extra sales for the zoom or touchpad rather than waiting for the iPad 2

On the other hand perhaps Apple didn't have the A5 processor ready in time and only intended ramping up the speed of the old A4 with updated graphics and memory. Obviously not enough to keep the competition at bay.

Just a theory, their sources heard news and thought it was reference to iPad 2, but it is in regard to iPad 3.

Two words: parts shortage

It better not be true. I sold my iPad 1 and I am going through some serious suffering without it
I also chose to sell mine a few months ago, the moment rumors began to develop about the upcoming model. The obvious reason being I was looking to recoup the best price. Fortunately I did very well.

Conversely, I'm finding I don't miss it. It was great while the honeymoon lasted, but once the newness wore off, I found that if anything I want a smaller version. I'm not a couch potato. Therefore I found many instances of wishing it were more easily tucked into my backpack on the weekends.

well i hope there will be a event this thursday where they will have one of those "one more thing" moment and announce the ipad. Percentage ? probably a 50% chance ? haha

i have a strong feeling this rumor is fake.

To me, this rumor makes no sense and does not line up with all the other rumors. Plus, market timing is good now. All the competitors are set in stone right now, so they can't change real fast if Apple surprises them with something unexpected. On top of that, the word is getting around that iPad 2 is on the horizon so I'm sure sales are beginning to slide.

Strange , I would have though Apple would try and release it quick to try and stop the incoming power of HoneyComb tablets.
