I love my Powerbeats3 and desperately want a wire-free version. But I especially want a wireless charging case. Fingers crossed.

Got super excited for a second but damn, powerbeats are so uncomfortable.

Bose QC30 still the most comfortable earphones I've ever tried but they don't seem to be able to make them to last beyond a year before rubber comes away from neck band.

Still searching for the 'grail' wireless earphones.....

And guess what: all ears are anatomically different.
Powerbeats fit mine perfectly.

I'm doing a hard pass on the new AirPods and was intrigued about rumors of black variant. These may be it for me. Gotta see reviews before I buy tho

The design is reminiscent of the Galaxy Buds to me for some reason, so I could see why it would. I re-evaluated, and I could see them having wireless charging. Only issue is the size for me.
Honestly i love power beats more than AirPods for the gym. What I hate is how they’d die from my sweat

And have to take them off every time you charge them.
THE HORROR!!!

Yeah, I know it takes away from the "it just works" that the AirPods were designed to follow but I'm happily putting tips on and taking them off in order to have a secure fit and way better sound than without.

I prefer Apple's Beats products over Apple's Apple branded offerings at this point. The sound is richer and of course we have many more options. PowerBeats are okay. The new ones look very sleek. Studio 3 are fantastic. Looking forward to this one.

I still think AirPods look ridiculous...
Absolutely agree on the last statement

Worst product ever bought was the beats x headphones...stopped working after 6 months of light usage...also i had earache after wearing them for more than a half hour because of the silicone tips(even the smallest ones caused pain because its inside your ear in order to create sound isolation), sound quality was just for listening to hip hop perhaps, ridiculous amount of bass... never gonna buy beats product again. On the other hand Airpods saved my life...they are not perfect but it is the best product by far in this category.

No you wouldn't, and that's because it should be almost double the price. The Powerbeats 3 are already listed at a freakish $200 with a wire...

Lol how can you tell me what I’d do?

I had Powerbeats before airpods. One of the main reasons I switched to airpods was the cable of the Powerbeats getting in the way of certain exercises.

I also use beats studio 3 and as far as price is concerned. Unlike airpods you can find good deals. I got my studio 3 for over $100 off retail. Same as you can get Powerbeats regularly for around $100. That’s what I paid for mine. Maybe even less.

Benefits of not being direct Apple named product. That said, I’ll need to see what they offer.

Calling it "Pro" is kind of odd for a line that's always been marketed as gym headphones, but I like the concept. If there are play/pause and volume buttons then I'll buy it without a doubt.

How are earbuds “pro” in any way shape or form? Hopefully they are of better quality than the shoddy Beats X.

I hope they support aptx HD AND LDAC .

Right now all of Apple offering are all giving lower grade option when paired with an IOS device .

Apple need to support aptx HD / LDAC in the next IPhone ..

how many earphones do you need - they usually last very long ... well before apple we had them very long - no idea how it is nowadays

I’ve got AirPods arriving today, but having seen these, I’m wondering if I should take them back. But I still need more details on them. Do they have wireless charging, is the battery life comparable or better, is it lightning port USB-C (I’m don’t wasn’t mini-USB).

I was disappointed with PowerBeats 3, I had two pairs that broke which I replaced with BeatsX and they were just as bad But I’m really worried about AirPods and losing them. Having to buy some in addition to attach to the AirPods every time I want to use them is not ideal.

Everyone is talking about how expensive PowerBeats are. I didn’t think they were THAT pricey. In the UK, they’re currently £20 more than the non-wireless charging AirPods, so if AirPods are £200, I expect these to be £220. Which if they offer water resistance and a more secure fit with all the other features of AirPod, I’d be willing to pay very happily.

Why? they have AAC.

aptx is Qualcomm (not going to happen)
LDAC is Sony

Honestly these look great. I had the original power beats(non wireless) that worked and fit great before ultimately switching to the Jaybird X2. I recently lost a comply ear tip and have since decided it’s time to upgrade. I really wanted the second gen AirPods to be more of an upgrade than we ended up getting. A matte black option would have been a major plus. I ultimately decided to pass. Glad I did because I really like the looks of these. I was going to upgrade to the Jaybird RUN XT but now I’m going to wait. Powerbeats 3 are $99 on Amazon right now so they’re not really that expensive. Hoping these new Powerbeats PRO don’t go above $199. If these are sweat and water resistant like the Jaybirds then I’ll buy day 1 and review them for everyone. They need to work for the gym and extensive running. We’ll see.
Sorry for the long rant lol.

I don’t currently have wireless headphones. I run a lot and really could use some, so I bought the new Airpods on launch day before these were announced, even though I’m pretty disappointed they aren’t available in black or space grey.

Did I make the wrong choice?

@M.PaulCezanne I wouldn’t say you made the wrong choice as there was no way to know these were coming. I did a lot of research before hand and found that the AirPods may not be the best wireless in ear buds specifically for gym use. However they’re one of the best overall earphones otherwise.
