With Amazon releasing a new speaker to compete with the HP Mini, Apple needs to release theirs soon.

And I'd love to hear more about an entry-level MB!

For those of you who use the HomePod Mini's, how do you find them compared to any competitors offerings?
They sound better but sound is subjective and it depends what you are comparing it to. Love the sound, the temperature sensor is very helpful. Personally I want to get a few more to put in my parents house since they can call 911 on them incase of an accident or a fall. My mom fell down last year, had a few broken tooth and months of therapy. No need for a subscription to do that.

I really would rather them wait another year and release a more substantial update to the HomePod and HomePod Mini.

An S12 HomePod Mini with a real Apple LLM is needed far more than the phones or any other Apple product with a possible exception of the Apple Watch.

Good to know, thanks for the feedback!

Waiting for the new Apple TV 4k, or whatever they will rename it to.
That already exists. Its the sole reason they changed the name of the streaming service to Apple TV, because in Apple's view, an Apple TV device doesn't exist. "Everyone already calls it the Apple TV 4K" is the quote from the exec's who changed it.

This of course goes against what people believe outside of Apple.

We absolutely love our Apple TV products. We have 4 active in our home and detached garage + several older models I need to recycle. The FaceTime addition to some of the new models was pretty cool although we haven't used it much since originally trying it. It would be super cool if the new one had a camera built in.

Yes let's wait yet another year while everyone else just releases products....

For reference I am interested in said products.

I'm guessing if sales are currently performing at an acceptable level for the execs, that they'll just endlessly hold off on anything new. Why innovate when you can appreciate your earnings call?

I want the new Mini and ATVB. Will buy when announced.

I don't mind that my nearly 10 year old Apple TV HD will continue in active service to me. Yeah, I updated the remote two years ago, but the unit itself was purchased on Day 1 and continues to work great - a testament to its design.
my parents are still using mine and the remote. they don't have 4k tvs

I’ve tried Google and went back to the HomePod Mini for the following reasons:

- the Audio quality is superb
- Siri is a much, much better DJ than Google Assistant. I kid you not: every time I say ‘Hey Google, play some music’ it answers back ‘sure, playing someone you love by Lewis capaldi’. Siri gets it right every single time.
- Siri is capable of digging out iTunes Match tracks I’ve uploaded to the cloud whereas Google can only access the public Apple Music library. This is invaluable due to the big gaps in streaming service catalogues.
- I’m a functional human and capable of looking up facts by myself. Siri never fails to set a timer or a reminder. That’s all I need from a kitchen assistant.
- AirPlay
- I like being able to vacuum up music on the way to work with the U1 chip
- I like being able to turn on my TV and AppleTV with just a voice command.
- The burglar alarm listening function actually works.

What I wish it did extra:

- Acted as a mesh to improve WiFi around the house.
- Had some built in flash memory for caching playlists and wireless iPhone backups

Seemed like today would be the day for the Apple TV announcement, but looks like may be tomorrow as so much noise from Apple about AppleTV this week other than the actual new hardware announcement. Hopefully tomorrow!
Hopefully. My 90 return window from Costco is closing soon!

The HomePod mini’s stereo paired with our TV have been excellent little speakers. Replacing my old hifi so this has also been our temporary living room music sound system and it’s actually pretty good in a mid sized open plan area. The sound is kind of similar to our little Bose Soundlink, maybe a touch tinnier up close than the Bose as you’d expect but when you back up a few metres they’re surprisingly good. No doubt much better options out there and wouldn’t have been my first choice, but they were free for me on a consumer points programme and I do like that they don’t have a battery to worry about.

Every day someone says: "It'll be tomorrow!" It's becoming ridiculous. It could easily come out in November for all we know.
