Get one. You're getting paranoid because all you hear on this forum is the problems, not the positives of the laptop.
 
I love OS X but getting faulty machine every time is just the limit. And each of them were from different bathes, this means its like buying lottery. If you are lucky you will get a fine machine, but chances of being unlucky I bigger then lucky?
 
The continued myth being perpetuated by many around here that "If Steve were still here there would be no/much less QC problems..." is nonsense. Apple has always been all about the R&D, not the assembly side. Apple used cheap manufacturing practices under Steve, and continues to do so now. I have long wished that they would use some of their floating cash surplus to pay their manufacturing side more, and have higher skilled/motivated assemblers at Foxconn coupled with increased QC standards. Getting a gorgeously designed rMBP that is handicapped by poorly applied thermal paste seems a poor use of building power.
