I just hope they bring that technology to the easily-misplaced Apple TV remote 😅
No subscription and I’ll purchase a dozen. If I have to pay a monthly fee though I’m out.
what’s wrong with the 3rd gen? I wouldn’t hold your breath on another radical change any time soon.
I would actually be interested in using these around my house to trigger lighting and other actions as I enter/leave specific rooms.
#1 sentence in every family "where is the remote"
Kind of like the 3 years before AirPods Pro, 7 years before iPad Pro, and 12 years before iPhone Pro?Don't buy now. In one year time they'll launch the "Pro" version.
Why?
Hopefully the pro model will include the optional king-fu gripWaiting for AirTag Pro's.
you can do that already with NFC stickers and iOS 13.

Apple could call the accessory "AirTags."
Not the same thing though. With UWB you would be able to set a geofence of proximity with high accuracy. With NFC you have to go right up to it and make physical contact with it.
This is something that would be important to me. Not so much in finding something like my keys or wallet, but having the ability to be alerted on my iPhone when I have left a tracked item behind. More than once, I have left my backpack at a clients office, only to get either part way or all the way home only to realize I left it behind.I'm hopeful that these will work better than Tile trackers... especially when it comes to smart location aware alerts (assuming it will be a feature). I use Tile Mates and Slims for my wallet, keys, sunglasses case, etc. Generally Tile has worked more often than not when I need to find something (there have been times when the tile showed up as nearby, but no sound came out of it). The feature that would be more frequently useful to me are the smart alerts that are supposed to let you know when you leave your home or office without your Tile. Smart Alerts have not been very helpful so far, but I know Tile is working to improve this feature. I get a lot of false alerts saying I left a Tile at home that I have in my pocket. When I do actually leave something at home, it usually doesn't alert me until I'm too far into my commute to turn back.
There's a member who was keen on tracking his kids. Short of a geo tag for cattle, he may be interested in this device.I reckon tomorrow for a release as people will want to attach them to their new AirPod Pro’s so they don't lose them
Who told you that? Is that a problem you heard about with Tile?So with a little software buggery anyone with an iPhone can discover that you are carrying something that you thought needed a tracker, and which pocket it's in? Huh.
Why?
