Interesting. I'm looking forward to an Apple Watch that's as fast as my iPhone 7+ or at least close. Speed is one of the things they should really focus on.
This. I think the watch has so much promise, but lots of room for efficiency improvement. For example when replying to a text, I hate pressing 'Reply' and having to wait 3-4 seconds for the UI and animations to catch up and the mic to activate before I can actually dictate anything.

I have the LTE iPad and pay $10/month to TMo for 5 GB of monthly data and I'm super happy with that. I use my iPad Pro with Logitech keyboard for my business and messaging students, so an always on internet connection is fantastic. However, I really just use my watch for notifications and activity tracking. I sometimes send messages but my phone is always nearby. I don't see the need for a cellular connection for me, perhaps there are lots of people who really want to leave their house without a phone, but are techy enough to stick a smart watch on their wrists? I don't know...

Precisely! Cellular is cool and will make it independent, buttt get that speed up and I'll upgrade my Series 0.

If this is your only complaint against the Apple Watch, I would say it's doing pretty good for its current size. Also, I actually like the thickness of the Apple Watch with the stainless model, it gives it some nice weight to it and substantiality. I happen to think it's the perfect size for me. Plus The battery life is exceptional with the Series 2. I will gladly take the thickness any day.
People have different perferrencs, Some like that bulky design while some others don't. I do like the design but not the thickness. What i mean to say is if Apple make the same design slightly thinner.

Assuming it needs its own plan.. I'm out. This type of thing should be easily connected to a current plan with no up-charge. But this is carriers we are talking about.. they nickle and dime everyone.

I second this. I have no need for LTE for an Apple Watch. It just would not benefit my situation, as I usually have my iPhone within reaching distance. And I certainly don't want to give my carrier anymore money than I contribute every month. The Current capabilities with the Apple Watch will suit me perfectly until the next major overhaul.

"No mention in Businessweek’s report, though, of the all-new form factor that I’ve heard is coming for this year’s new watches." - via John Gruber

This is appealing to me as someone who dislikes social media and doesn't want to be too connected.
This appeals to me as long as I have AirPods with it. You could use the AirPods for private phone calls and listening to tunes. Super simple and straight forward. Dictation and personal assistants will replace casual text input in the near future. Arguably, you'll only need a small screen at that point to glance at text and interact with a simple touch UI throughout your day. Leave the heavier composing at the desk on the larger workstations like the iMac and iPad Pro.

I Understand everybody has different preferences. You stated "This is the only Apple product that needs to be thinner." The Apple Watch is still in its infancy and will continue to evolve. I think sometimes people set expectations too high of what they want out of a product and they don't allow the product to mature over time. I will gladly take a trade off of the Apple Watch been thicker and having a larger battery to incorporate 18 hours of usage.

Nice for those who wanted it but I really see no point to it other than Marketing.

Bloomberg's a pretty reliable source. Here's hoping the Series 2 remains in the lineup and drops to $299.

How much is this damn thing gonna be??? I'd put my money on 599 entry level for 42mm.

Damn
