Keep in mind, I have one "shipped" Samsung tab that was free with my 3-year cable/internet contract. It sits in a drawer. Even the dog won't play with it.

I've never heard of an iPad being given away, save as part of a contest.

Wait so apple doesn't need to catch up to them combined, but you're combining them to show apples marketshare is shrinking?

Did you just stop trying?

You're confusing my efforts with your incompetence.

I'm talking about market share, you're talking about profits. Google does not need to beat their partners (combined) in profit margins to maintain a dominant market share, they already have a dominant market share thanks to their partners. Apple will not maintain their profits if they continue to lose market share. A philosophy even you have acknowledged but continue to stupidly argue about it. Because??? I don't know, and I don't think you do either by the sound of it.

Every dominant company that eventually went out of existence or into obscurity did so by losing market share which, unabated will lead to lost profits. It's really that simple. We can go in circles for weeks, in the end, you're going to acknowledge the issue, as you have here, but feel compelled to argue about it anyway. To me, that sounds retarded, but I'm sure to you it makes perfect sense to argue with something you don't disagree with.

Let me preface by again stating that your comprehension is of levels that I never could have imagined.

I am talking about market share. Google simply cannot catch up to the marketshare of the apple/Microsoft/samsung conglomerate. They are losing money on android and for reasons unknown to anyone you think they are not.

Microsoft makes more money than Google from android. So does Samsung. Google is 12 billion in the hole, from the Motorola acquisition. Google simply cannot compete when you lump those competing companies together. Google's market share, ie it's nexus devices is laughable. When you combine the competing companies of Microsoft/apple and Samsung together Google cannot compete in market share or profits or sales or revenue.

Google will soon become irrelevant. Because three companies combined are destroying Google's market share. This is a logical argument.

You must be getting really desperate with your arguments when you just tried to separate the company "google" from the product "android" to try and prove a point that not only doesn't prove anything, but exists nowhere but your own imagination. You're completely delusional if you think Android isn't doing for Google exactly what they want it to do.

I know you want to continue to argue with something you've already agreed with but you're far better off if you limit your next reply with "last word" since that's the only thing you could possibly get out of this.

Your argument is exactly the same thing. As you said earlier are you just upset because I bought it up? In a marketshare comparison, you find it ok to lump hundreds of other companies under the umbrella of "android" when those companies compete with each other, but its "desperate" when it's turned around?

Stay consistent with your argument, maybe then you'd have a point. You simply can't say it's ok to lump companies together when it proves your point and then call it desperate when it doesn't.

And is repeatedly saying I agree with you a way for you to convince yourself that I agree with you? It's baffling that not only are you ignoring the fact that I'm telling you that I don't agree with you, but you keep repeating to yourself while rocking back and forth "he agrees, he agrees with me..."

At the end of the day, you simply cannot deny that Google cannot compete with Apple/Microsoft and Samsung combined. Not in marketshare, not in profits, not in revenue. You agree with me.

Your argument would make sense if all these other companies were using a DIFFERENT product. They aren't so it doesn't. Whatever it is you tried to "turn around" you failed at it. When people say "google" in terms of mobile devices, it infers Android. I know you're well aware of this, so do yourself a favor and don't let your pride cost you IQ points by pretending you don't.

All you basically said is "Apple would have more market share if they had more market share" but we both know that would sound dumb so you tried to be cleaver and that didn't work either.

These companies do not profit share. You realize that correct? They have no relationship with each other at all other than using Google's product that was given away free to them. Larry Page doesn't call south Korea and give Samsung high fives over the phone when they break sales records. Google and Samsung are competing against each other. This simply cannot be so difficult for you to comprehend. I don't even know why I bother trying to explain these things to you, because it is clear that you will never understand. Earlier I would have thought it's because you didn't want to understand, but you've made it clear that you are incapable of understanding and that's probably not 100% your fault.

To recap, more people own iPhones than any other phone and that number is growing

more people own iPads than any other tablet and that number is growing

Apple makes more money than any other company, indeed more than several of its competitors combined, and that number is growing

Apple sells more product than any other company, indeed more than several of its competitors combined, and that number is growing

Apple make more gross revenue than any other company, indeed more than several of its competitors combined, and that number is growing

Apple makes 70% of the profits in the mobile market, indeed more than several of its competitors combined

Apple outsells all Android phones combined at Verizon, Sprint, ATT and T-Mobile and most probably in many many more places

:eek: Android fanatic/Apple hater conclusion: Apple will soon be irrelevant because their marketshare is low!!!!!:eek:

All you basically said is "Apple would have more market share if they had more market share" but we both know that would sound dumb so you tried to be cleaver and that didn't work either.

You gotta love when that happens. I assure you I am not trying to be cleaver.

Didn't you just say you were talking about market share? Or do you get schooled in one topic and switch to the other and get schooled there, then say you're talking about something else, get schooled there, pretend Android is a separate entity from Google, get schooled hard there and go back to an argument that you had already been schooled in at least 3 times before. Rinse and repeat.

The real recap is this. You acknowledged Apple cannot continue to lose market share indefinitely and maintain their current profits. You also acknowledged apple needs to do something about it. That was my argument form the very beginning. You simply tried to change it into an "apple is currently still more profitable" argument. Unfortunately for you that wasn't the debate. Pay closer attention.

But hey, you got me on grammar. Chalk up 1 point for you, at least you weren't shut out. ;)

:confused: please show me where I said apples market share is related to their profits. My argument from the beginning is that market share is useless because it has not affected apple in anyway! It's beyond amazing that you can misconstrue something so much. Don't avoid this question like you do everytime you are proven wrong, answer it. Where did I say that marketshare is related to profit? My argument from the beginning is that they are NOT related and apple is proof of that! Do you even know what you're getting so defensive about?

You also acknowledged apple needs to do something about it. That was my argument form the very beginning.

Your "argument", and I use that term lightly because it's flimsy at best, was that Apple well soon become irrelevant and that's because of their shrinking market share. You used colourful words like bleeding to try to make a point that wasn't there. I proved countless times why marketshare means nothing because the simple introduction of one competitor lowers your market share. Says nothing about a company at all. With apples bleeding market share, they are making more money than probably 95% of their competitors combined, and we've got ppl like you trying to argue their impending irrelevancy. What a joke.

You simply tried to change it into an "apple is currently still more profitable" argument. Unfortunately for you that wasn't the debate. Pay closer attention.

So you acknowledge that marketshare has nothing to do with profits and a companys success? He agrees with me, he agrees with me, he agrees with me.

But hey, you got me on grammar. Chalk up 1 point for you, at least you weren't shut out. ;)

Trust me that was one of the dozens of fastballs you've been throwing me. I appreciate your kindness.

Cablevision a couple years ago used to give away an iPad if you signed up for their triple play package.

No one can deny that Apple's growth is slowing down or that they have new competitors in the market or that they need something exciting in the near future.

Why would you say this if you really believe market share is completely unrelated to profits? After all, profits are still up there and that's all that matters right? ;)

Keep digging

There's nothing for me to really believe. The facts speak for themselves. Apple has low marketshare and the highest profit in the industry. How the heck are you making them related? One going down is CLEARLY not causing the other to go down. But in your bizarro world they're related?

And nice job of twisting my words. Not surprised though, you've been doing that for a while...

Twisting your words? It was a direct quote lol. Guess you forgot you said that eh? Better luck next time, have a nice day.

Geez it's like talking to a kid with you. Oh and bravo for avoiding the question...again.

By twisting my words, I obviously meant you misconstrued them. Again, not surprised at all that you were unable to comprehend them. I like how you've decided to take your ball and go home now that your theory has been poked full of holes.

"Market share is directly related to profits! Ignore that Apple has low market share and the highest profits! Have a nice day!"

^ that about sum up your logic? What a joke.

The only thing that's obvious is that (among other things) you don't know what a direct quote is. It means it wasn't "twisted" and it wasn't "misconctructed", and now that it's been directly quoted, you can't go back and correct what you forgot you said. That's what often happens when you debate a topic based on brand enthusiasm. You beat yourself.

:confused: do you know what misconstrued means? Man you really aren't "cleaver"

Again...thanks for the fastballs

Whenever someone has to resort to spelling errors in an argument that has nothing to do with spelling, they know they've lost but want the last word to save face. Thanks for the win, you did give it to me after all with this gem of a quote... In fact, I think that quote is sig worthy.

No one can deny that Apple's growth is slowing down or that they have new competitors in the market or that they need something exciting in the near future.

I'll even intenionally misspell a word or two here so you can point it out and think you got something otu of it. ;)

In about 20 minutes I'll be going home. Your quote (which I whole heartedly agree with) will remain.
