I think Tim said he has 5 years to go. Do with that information, what you will.
Whereas the ultimate responsibility for all of the company belongs to the head, I think it’s pretty obvious that unless Craig and John G. go the same old stuff will be happening. Give the fixer, Ms. Vollroth the job and drop John G.. looks like all of AI is going to be very important going forward and Apple cannot afford to keep on someone who is not getting the job done.

No the Apple Watch has been his only major success everything else has been ok
I disagree.
No Apple intelligence has been a disaster I don’t even think it was supposed to get released with iOS 18 hence why the first part came out after the 16 models.
I don’t agree it’s been a disaster. There are some functions and things will get better.
There is no need for cook to retire as long as people keep buying the same increment upgrades
Two separate things are being discussed. One, it’s not up to your judgment to determine why people buy Apple products and services. Two Tim probably has a mandatory retirement age.

To be fair, airpods, the homepod mini, "pro" phones and the transition to m-series chips weren't that unsuccessfull either.
The HomePod mini is not that successful because they don’t sell a lot of them.
The pro phones sell not because of spectacular things but because Apple now sell 4 new phones a year so for example when they only sold one phone it still sold well.
The general public don’t buy the products for the m chip in them they would buy them regardless.
I’m talking about a product that people go out & say I want that.
The airports sell well because they took the headphone port away

Ai is one it’s way to being a commodity. It’s best Apple take its time to see where the wind is blowing, imo.

I’ll postulate you don’t know why people buy Apple gear or what the thought process is.

Additionally a product in apples eyes could be successful and not be a high volume seller like an iPhone.

Of course you disagree about the Apple Watch because everyone is going out there to buy a Vision Pro headset.

It’s been a disaster hence why hence are getting constantly delayed & pushed back because they where writing checks that there ass can’t cash.

That’s your opinion regarding incremental upgrades in their products

Nah mate I know a lot of people who just own either iPhones or iPads & don’t see any need to go out & buy any other products
& there is a lot like that

I disagree because I disagree with the original statement. There have been successes and innovations in more than one category.

I don’t view it as a disaster. I’m not going to claim things have gone according to plan, but that’s not a disaster.

Correct. All of this is opinions.

Ok instead of doing a general statement name the products that have actually sold well & people go out there way to buy.

Well yeah that is what you call a disaster when you announce something & it keeps getting delayed

How about their phones, tablets wearables and computers?
Well yeah that is what you call a disaster when you announce something & it keeps getting delayed
we have a fundamental disagreement about what constitutes a disaster.

Of course you do
Well, the same applies. In your anecdotal world for example no one wants any apple gear.
& I know millions of people that have bought a Vision Pro headset because it’s pure dead brilliant & it’s so worth it
Apple, according to Tim Cook said the AVP was a success. Who am I going to believe?

This is not my opinion is right and your opinion is wrong. If you believe wearables are a flop show your data.

Siri, on Sundays when there is a full moon I want all the lights on the left side of the house to flash 50 times a minute.

Siri - Do you want me to ask ChatGPT this?

Yes because a ceo of a company is going to come out & say our new product hasn’t sold well & is priced to dear for people?

The VP is a flop compared with other headsets & for Apple it is

I never said nobody wants to buy apple gear but there’s a big difference

Gurman previously said the home hub would be "Apple's most significant release of the year," as it represents the company's "first step toward a bigger role in the smart home."
The first step to dominating the smart home? Making Siri a functional, reliable assistant first. In our house, Alexa already took her job.
He said the device will be like a "smaller and cheaper iPad" that lets users "control appliances, conduct FaceTime chats, and handle other tasks."
Unless you're hopelessly devoted to buying every Apple gadget regardless of redundancy, why bother if you already own an iPad or iPhone? Yet another underwhelming launch—delayed, no less.

Siri - Here's what I found
Siri - You'll need to unlock your iPhone first

Expecting the device to be previewed at WWDC with the launch happening sometime within the first three to four months of 2026. Even at launch, the device may not be able to do much.

We’ll see. I am interested in such a device. My family is “hopelessly devoted” to buying Apple products. We’ve already tried Alexa and Alexa is in the junk drawer.

The significant increase of devices in the home will require better integration and management. The same applies to routers. Apple has an opportunity with both to build a better in-home system within its eco-environment. The best place to accomplish maybe in the router. Or a combination hub and router fully integrated to Apple systems.

My suspicion is that Apple has not found a way to completely block Prompt Injection Attacks in "new" Siri. And it would take only one demonstrated successful attack to destroy Apple's security and privacy cachet forever.

So that's just being silly.

The peanut gallery is full of self-proclaimed experts.

Apple’s continued delays in delivering a more personalized Siri are more than just an inconvenience. They reflect a deeper failure in both strategy and execution. The company positioned Apple Intelligence as a major leap forward, yet nearly a year after its announcement, its most ambitious AI features remain vaporware.

The issue isn’t just the delay itself. It’s the broader pattern of Apple trailing behind in AI while failing to establish a meaningful presence in the home. Competitors have surged ahead with AI assistants, while Apple’s Siri remains frustratingly limited. Even with the promised upgrades, there’s little indication that Apple is working on an AI-powered 'HomePad' that could redefine its role in the home.

This is not just a missed opportunity; it’s a growing liability. Apple has built its reputation on arriving late to market but delivering industry-defining experiences. That formula worked with the iPhone, Apple Watch, and even AirPods. But AI is different—speed matters, and Apple’s delays risk making it irrelevant in a category that will define the next decade.
