Since when was it Apple's responsibility to release things in time to meet the expectations set by analysts?

The Apple I always knew waited until they had a remarkable product prior to release. Seems to me like little has changed since Steve's parting. Not that it hasn't changed-- we just have little evidence of it, currently.

i dont care at all about this product... i got a nike fuel band...

just give me the new iphone with a fingerprint sensor

A watch is soo... boring.

Unless it comes with laser beams to kill the enemies or with a wire and a hook like Batman or Spiderman.

I'm not sure most people realize the life-changing potential of a wearable product. I doubt this will be the nano-with-a-band that many are expecting, but rather an entirely new kind of device that alters the way we interact with *all* of our tech.

If you don't think you want an "iWatch", you might be surprised to know that the people who created it have always been thinking skeptics like you.

its very interesting how the worlds most valuable company hasn't produced anything original since the original ipad. Kinda pathetic.

Yeah. Just like they didn't invent anything between the original iPod (2001) and the iPhone (2007). Really pathetic then too, eh?

Who are these analyst you speak of? Anyone can be an analyst. Oh look. "The iPhone 5S will be delayed till early 2014 says analyst."

So when you clicked the "Pre-Order" Button you didn't notice that it said

YOUR ORDER

Your Pebble watch will ship in Summer 2013. We will not charge your credit card until your watch is ready to ship (and we'll contact you by email first to confirm).

We will be shipping Pebbles in order based on the date that the pre-order was placed. Pre-order now to reserve your place in line!

http://getpebble.com/cart

Maybe you should be a little more careful when you read the BIG PRINT next time you Pre-Order something.

I read the BIG PRINT, and it was supposed to ship a month ago.

Maybe you should be a little less douchey when replying to people on the Internet.

"iWatch will use a 1.5-2.0 inch display"

What?? No 5 inch display!!
I won't buy one unless it has a 5inch display.

:)

Just what I was thinking. Apple will start with a 1.5" screen then increase it to 2.0" after a few generations while Samsung and the like will be stuffing 4-5" screens in their watches.

----------

But I thought that the iPad was just a big iPhone?

"Without an official phone app". Otherwise know as iPod touch.

In case you lived under a rock, they just did an iPhone 5 which sold faster than the galaxy S4 which came out recently.

In Q4 2012 Apple shipped 27.4 Million iPhone 5 units. That is less than 10 Million a months, including all the pre-order, long wait for the new model and hype. Apple was expected to sell 10M in the first weekend and barely managed half of that. I think the 10M for Samsung is not something that Apple should simply dismiss.

<50.00 not going to happen.

I think it's possible if it's kept minimalistic (no useless multi-touch like on the nano). Even if its price is ≥$50, I might buy one if it has some really useful features on it. Besides, I don't really have anything else to buy unless I want an iPad for no reason...

Yeah, and those fools at McDonald's just making food as usual. So lame. We need awesome companies like Fisker at the top of this, right?

So, what I'm hearing is he basically thinks it's a 6th generation iPod nano with Nike Plus.

Whose terrible idea was it to get rid of the wrist strap on the nano and make it some kind of half-*** iPod touch instead?

----------

Don't make me laugh, New Products, Apple ... Apple only makes money these days by tax evasion and suing competitors in court. Makes sense then that any new product isn't even available for at least a year (giving competitors time to beat Apple to market and thus giving Apple more ammo to jump back into court again!!!)

I'm fairly certain Apple has a large net loss on the whole lawsuit thing. Paid or unpaid, this guy is just a shill.

Summer Starts June 21st and Ends on September 21st.

You are one of a whopping 85,000 people of have PRE-ORDERED it.

Read the BIG Print or wait for an unannounced mythical iWatch.

Personally I THINK Apple is working on some kind of watch-like device. That much is not so much speculation. Everything else is.

No one but those at Apple working on it know what timeline it is. Whether or not resources have been "pulled" from it and/or if they simply aren't in a rush to get it out (IE - it's in development - not aggressive go to market).

You know they could easily be working on a TON of things. I don't know why the media is fixated on a watch and that it HAS to have some timeline.

Crud, I'm late to announce that we queue up all the, "this is stupid," "watches are fashion statements," "my phone is my clock," and "I wear an expensive watch already" (but you know it doesn't even have a battery in it) statements.

FWIW, I wear a watch, have always worn a watch, it's functional and not ugly, people who have phones in their pockets ask me what time it is (a lot), I like wearing a watch, it's not a fashion statement (it has a battery and tells time, sometimes even accurately<grin>), it didn't cost more than a new car, it's not a status symbol and I am personally interested in what Apple might launch in this area - as long as it tells time (at least fairly accurately), I'm thinking that if it can do other things (and not look ugly), then I'm a target consumer.

Oh, forgot about the "whine, no new Mac Pro, when new Mac Pro, me-want-new-mac-pro (chest thump, arm fart)" comments. Big effing sigh, so boring, so boring.

1. Mac pros weren't delayed. You never had a release date.

The Mac Pro hasn't seen a TRUE update in years. Yes it's "delayed."

4. Retina iPad mini was likely impossible at the time of release. Or at least so prohibitively expensive, that it was unfeasible.

Don't make excuses.

5. They gave you the highest resolution laptop ever last year, did you buy one?

Two completely different products with different price points.

Your comment is bad and you should feel bad.

Nope, his comment is true and great. Apple has done nothing earth-shattering since Tim Cook took over. Face it, Apple has gotten stale. The lack up updates with the Mac Pro are a joke! No excuses.

You're silly comment: "Your comment is bad you should feel bad" is laughable at best.

So pathetic Apple can't do anything. No mac pros: delayed indefinitely. Their damn radio thing can't even launch. And now the stupid iwatch isn't coming. And what about iwork, ilife, aperture, logic pro? What has Tim Cook been doing?

What's next, a mini ipad with a retina display that should have been included in the original? A few spec bumped macs? The same iphone with an S in front it? IOS7 will probably play it safe and OSX will be the same thing but bloated even more. What happened to innovation?

yeah it's kinda unfortunate. June 10th better deliver...

I am under the impression that I have read similar wording by other users. It appears as if they are just paraphrasing each other.

Sadly it seems there is a growing number of Apple users who have [regrettably] come to similar conclusions. I've been using Apple systems since the 90's, and I'm sure others much longer. Most of us are power system users, having to contend with a now consumer market driven company. Yes, it's made them a powerhouse, which we are very grateful. However, it's come at a cost to us who rely on pro-systems for work, et al.

I'm disappointed Apple went from a company with a stellar line of CCFL LCD's, affordable and well equipped power systems, all for roughly the cost of a reasonably equipped Mac Pro (which is in dire need of hardware upgrades, mine is "current gen" but dates to Oct 2010). Consumer market saturation levels are plateauing and Apple has faced difficulties breaking into the Chinese market.

Neglecting the pro and business markets, which many deemed too "niche", is slowly biting Apple in the rear. Many colleagues jumped ship after the Final Cut Pro X fiasco for Windows or Linux systems, using Avid or even Adobe CS as they stepped up their game. If Apple is smart, they'd take advantage of Adobe's shift towards a pay-as-you-use system by focusing energy back into what made OS X and hardware so great: quality, stability, cutting edge or at least current hardware, and a full range of displays. Businesses from design to editing firms have ten's if not hundreds of thousands of dollars set aside for hardware and license upgrades. That adds up to a good amount of profit, enough to drive the market.

There are only so many iPads and iPhones a consumer can entertain themselves with before it gets dull. I've yet to see the corporate sect adopt iPads/tablets as a primary or even quasi-centric device of choice. Generally it's in addition to desktop systems. A quick glance in the top ten paid and free iPhone or iPad apps and you'll see mostly games and media apps. I couldn't imagine working mainly on an iPad, dissertations or casual work on a small screen taken up by the keys, no thanks.

Stop shifting an already stressed engineering dept bet iOS and OS X as Steve Jobs insisted, usually resulting in OS X being shelved. Hire more engineers, get a hold of the departments lacking S.V.P.'s by hiring or moving the right people into those positions. It's mind boggling that Cook is taking over for Browett, who lasted only a few months, as S.V.P. of Retail Operations, and Ive taking over design after Forstall's firing the same exact day as Browett's last Nov. Bertrand Serlet was excellent as S.V.P. of OS X Software Engineering. Since his departure, Craig Federighi's work in Lion and Mountain Lion has been less than stellar (Serlet did not work on 10.7 as some have stated, he was brought in from NeXT and responsible for 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6).

It seems to many that Apple has been treading water recently, and faith in the company's future seems shaky as stock analysts and future traders to die-hard Apple users generally feel underwhelmed. I hesitate writing this as I'm certain it will be shredded by some, but it's how I feel and how many I know feel at this moment. Whether genuinely warranted or not, it's been harder to maintain faith in Apple for some. I'm hopeful that 2013 is a return to pro and business markets, with a new Mac Pro, displays and pro-App updates. If not, I don't know what will happen for us.

(go easy on me guys, simply my 2 cents)

While I understand your frustration/impatience, you have to understand that innovation isn't an easy process that happens year over year. It takes a lot of time. Especially when a company wants to enter new markets. I'd rather wait a good while and be astounded by a great product than one with little to no innovation.

Also, we must not forget that all of this is pure guessing and speculation. All these analysts are speaking out of their a**

:)

1.) Analyst. 2.) This is purely a rumor site with no information regarding future products so why sweat over a device that hasen't even been announced yet?
