heh, well, no need to work when you win the birth lottery
:)

I know a few New Age types who claim vivid between lives memories. Most say the body you get next lifetime is anything but a lottery.

Some say it is more like a karmic allocation based on the deeds you did in the last and previous lives along with a very long term group of "spiritual friends" who all get reborn into bodies of the same age and come together for similar roles trying to get it right.

For rich and powerful families, spirits at times will fight each other for a body. Supposedly, royal class, high birth families have the most fights between lives. This can explain the current House of Windsor very well.

Makes sense. Apple is not big on visitors. They like their secrecy.

I read that one of the purposes of the building shape, was to help keep internal secrecy as well. Groups that needed to work together would be side by side, but nicely isolated from other groups around the ring.

However, Cook and Ive seem to have a different work philosophy than Jobs did. They talk a lot now about internal collaboration and integrated soft/hardware, instead of the compartmented model that Jobs favored, where everyone was kept unaware of what the other groups were doing.

This building design might not be the best choice for a post-Jobs Apple. Not a big deal of course. It's not uncommon to have to work around a building's limitations.

One big advantage of a cylinder building like this is the lack of glaceing "down a hallway" as most of the corridors will block themselves. Many apartment and dorms were built like this for that very feature.

Looking at the public plans, I see a lot of ways you can partition this place on an Ah Hoc basis as needed. Their may even been partition walls built into the place like convention centers have to make the space needed as-is for personnel and projects.

I want to see how much of this campus next to the street is accessible to the pubic. I'd love to see these orchards become a semi-public park for events and general leasure.

damn.. looks like i'm going to be stuck working at the waste treatment facility in the next go round.

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.", Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
