Apple's strategy for the new notebooks?

i was going to type out an elaborate reply to this but then i realized that its only 1 day away.... so nvmd.

i honestly dont think the price is a huge deal... especially if its only a 100 buck difference. people who want it bad enough will buy it. that said, 200 or 300 bucks is a meaningful % price cut so i understand the pros/cons.

Hey does anyone know if there is a new macbook 12" planned?
Why was the 12" program discontinued?
The whole tech industry is moving to small and more portable solutions, is the 12" program for apple not a good idea?

There are lots of people who have interfaces (such as cameras or audio recording equipment) that can ONLY use firewire.
