So... bland! What a disappointing downgrade. I hope these aren't real...
It’s playlist artwork. Of course it’s going to be simplistic.
If you're wrong, can we count on you to own up to that later today?
Even if I’m wrong, maybe instead of judging a book by its cover give it an actual chance upon reveal at WWDC? But I genuinely don’t believe we should be forming our opinions based on playlist artwork, lol.

some of these comments are a bit hyperbolic but i will say, if this design change turns out to be another wrong move...

one interesting thought i've had is the divergence with google's material 3. material 3 gives more of that "warm nostalgia" vibes that makes me think of the movie her, which seems fitting for the AI era. whereas this liquid glass stuff feels a little windows vista to me.

If you're wrong, and this is what it looks like .. why should we not be forming opinions about it?

You want to have it both ways -- it doesn't work like that Eve

It'd be better to simply say "yes, I'll be back here admitting I was wrong if it turns out this was indeed the look".

I’m bored of the flat look. Our devices have beautiful retina screens, we need a design that will take full advantage of that.
Yes, we need a design that takes full advantage beautiful retina screens.

...for content. Photos, videos.
Not to distract away from them with superfluous shadows and transparency.

You must be joking. It's bland. I feel like the kid who says, "The Emperor has no clothes!" And here you are saying, "These aren't the droids you're looking for."

Why not have the ui be just as vibrant and detailed as your content? The original iOS wasn’t intended for retina screens, but it looked incredible. To this day many people still prefer it over the iOS7 redesign.

Bring back all the power features of NeXTStep--Server features with an entirely updated Netinfo, mail server, web, etc--with ObjC 4.0 (fully modernized and not crippled) including C23/C+-23/Fortran 2023/Swift 7 fully interoperable with each language and I would still fire the UX if the UI has such a basic look for Icons.

Add an Apple ease of use Mesh Networking API and internal stack for 5G and up to Wifi 7 with early 6G APIs, plus a full approach API for HPC/AI exposed where appropriate in all targeted developer APIs, future of Pixelmator Pro and how it will enhance macOS, be enhanced, etc.

Can we get roadmaps on Logic, Final Cut, Motion, etc?

Very classic "Heads I win, Tails you lose" stuff

I don't, I have a phone that's stuck on iOS6 and it's really awful. I think people are way too nostalgic for it because it's not in front of them and they only remember a few things.
