Woke up late and ordered a 64GB AppleTV 4K. 2-3 weeks for delivery. I wonder what the chances are I can find one at the store on Friday. Did anyone do this last upgrade?

I just ordered my Apple TV 4K 32GB from Best Buy with a Sept 22 arrival date

I ordered the 32gb from Best Buy on Friday. It said receive it by Friday 9/22. I wonder if it will in fact be delivered on the 22nd. The option to pick it up at the store was not available to me.

I'm only "guessing" but I feel the ATV4 would have sold in higher volumes since it introduced something for everything. Whereas the ATV 4K is mostly going to be beneficial to 4K TV owners.

That said, I walked into the Apple Store late on the launch day of the ATV4 and they had both 32gb and 64gb models in stock.

Can't say that will definitely be the case this time and for all stores but its not an iPhone.

Walmart had the 64 gb available to preorder but it was sold out yesterday. The 32 gb preorders are also sold out there. I'm hoping I can get a 64 gb at either an Apple Store or at least be able to order one from Target.com tomorrow.

Stores that would normally carry them around me aren't getting them until the 27th. The Apple Store nearest me has them though.

While I'm definitely going to get one it doesn't really offer me anything I don't already have access to via other means. So I can't justify the 40 minute drive through crappy traffic to the Apple Store today.

I walked into the Apple store in Charlotte, NC and I was in and out with a 64gb 4k Apple TV in less than 10mins.

Just went to my local Best Buy and they had one 32GB unit and nothing for 64GBs. Not really sure how that can be the case, but at least I got my 32GB pre-order delivered yesterday so I guess I'm going to stick with it for a bit.

I’ve called all around in my area. Nobody has any 64GB. Guess they under estimated the demand.
You're right, that's pretty interesting. Do you play a lot of games that you want the storage? $20 is certainly essentially nothing, but storage space on the AppleTV seems pointless unless you have large apps. (Asking genuinely, not trying to be a dick :p )

On the previous gen, it was a $50 difference between the 32 and 64. I think since it's only $20 this time, many are just opting for the 64. I guess if you're already willing to spend $179, might as well kick in $20 more for double the storage.

Having said that, my pre-ordered 32 gb is being delivered today and I'm picking up a 64 gb at a local Apple store.

Since I'm looking at a Christmas gift to myself for this, I'll hold off a few weeks. Hopefully more stock will appear.
I probably don't need 64gb, but like others have said, $20 extra is not much.

Just arrived at Lakeside, Thurrock in the U.K. No queues for anything and was out the door in less than 5 minutes with a 32GB. No 64 GBs in stock. Plenty of 8s & 8 Pluses in stock though but I don't need a new phone this year.
