Here we are years later and i hold a more or less useless apple watch series 0 in my hand and to be honest the watch is still not what paid for 2 1/2 years ago. I want my money back!!!
Standing outside Xiaomi store looking at the amazfit stratos and i am going in.

I so much wanted apple watch to be good but it is still not.. i went all the way from Denmark to cupertino to buy my watch ... hmm atleast i got the trip out of it :-(

Well, why don't you contact Apple and ask for a refund? Do keep us posted on your interaction with Apple, as we need a good laugh now and then.
Yes that would be news.
Like everyone else i got F..... in the A.. with series 0 and ended up having to pay for it.
That is also why i am not buying another apple watch.

Even worse is no more updates for about 500$ watch (that is what i payed) !!! and software still feels like not ready for use.
So that is what you get.. 2 1/2 years of watch life for that price!! It was even a year before i started using the watch because it was more or leas useless the 1 year.

What were you hoping the watch would be?
Working.. it has always been to slow to use.
I ended up only using for display time and sometimes control music (that is when apple is not making it sour for spotify users to push them towards apple music)
I have used the map option a few times but apple maps are just not very good and watch too unrealiable for navigation in my case.
Apart from that it has just been an expensive annoying thing that i can still not get to hold battery for an entire day.
I would go as far as saying apple should not have sold series 0 it was not ready and now i pay for it while apple investors bathe in money in some tax evasion country.

You mean like original iPhone was much slower than 3GS? Was original iPhone not working then?

Apple has never advertised Apple Watch with Spotify.

Map on Apple Watch is perfectly reliable for me, even when I was using the original watch.

Apart from that it has just been an expensive annoying thing that i can still not get to hold battery for an entire day.

When I use original Apple Watch I charged it by night & used it all day. I never had to take it off because battery had ran out.

I still couldn't see what your "not working" means exactly.

I have never heard anyone complaining about the software 2 1/2 years later of the first generation Apple Watch. And the OP’s complaint doesn’t explain very well why its ‘Useless’ other than it Won’t be supported through WatchOS 5.

Well now it is 2 1/2 years later and now you hear complaint from me.
Reason i complain now is that i would hope my only 2 1/2 year old 500$ watch would some day work as intended and with no watchOS5 on series 0 it will never.

As intended i mean working. Does it turn on and show time... yes.
Does it hold battery, fast to use and free of problems... No.

I purchased the watch but at that price i did not expect such an unfinished product to enter market and now to find out the watch will never be working as intended.

You can not compare iphone with watch. Most of the apps on my watch i never use because thay are simply too slow to open or simply does not open.. that was not the case with iphone ... and we are talking basic stuff here.

Lets not cheat ourselfs if you owned series 0 from beginning you know what i talk about.

About spotify... do i really need to specify that much what i am talking about? You know this is an apple forum for apple devices which you signed up for right?

It is good for you that you are lucky your maps work in your city and your watch is doing well with maps but i can tell you mine is not.

Battery ... well i get half a day then it enter power saving mode.

The fact is that the series 0 never should have been sold. My watch was in a drawer the 1 year
.........

I have a practically unused apple watch because it was simply to bad software to waste time putting on every morning and now my new (old) watch been sitting on my desk for a long time waiting for it to be useful.. already more or less obsolete after 2 1/2 years. WTF

Atleast we got kaleidoscope and toystory watchface in those almost 3 years

Your watch does work as intended, it just won’t be supported through watchOS 5. You can still use all the _same_ functionality as you normally would, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t be functional as you’re making it sound.

Does it hold battery, fast to use and free of problems... No.

To be clear, the first generation Apple Watch was never fast. It was improved with performance over the generations of watchOS. And as far as your battery, it might be in need of replacement or Apple can conduct a free battery watch test.

And for the record, no piece of technology is ‘free of problems’. That includes any Apple product.

to enter market and now to find out the watch will never be working as intended.

That’s not true, your watch will work as intended as it always has, it just won’t be supported to watchOS 5. You can still use the same functionality with all its capabilities. You’re making it sound like Apple is deactivating your watch or you no longer be able to use it for anything else.

As for the progression of technology, *All* technology will eventually be dated and replaced or superseded by something that is newer, faster and more efficient. That’s the evolution of the Apple Watch as it is right now, I think for those who purchased the Apple Watch originally when it launched in able 2015, that’s over three years of usage. By that time, most are likely considering upgrading as it is, maybe because the battery is starting to wear down or they simply are interested in a newer model.

Some like another round of entitlement. Is the OP really griping about their 2+ year old watch and they think that jumping to a device that neither Apple nor Android, has no apps to speak of other than the ones it comes with, is controlled directly by a Chinese Corporation, is armed and with specs from over a year ago (the resolution is much smaller than the current series 3, despite the Stros being released just last December), and a comparatively microscopic amount of storage (it only has 2GB usable) is going to be even remotely usable over half that period?

Sure, whatever...

I've zero issues with folk pointing to the Stratos and saying they like it because of its reported 5 day battery life, or its price. But buy it for what it is - a cheap watch with limited features but does exactly what you want it to do at the time of purchase with zero expectations for any sort of longevity. However whining about a 2.5 year old Series 0 then stating they think the Stratos is the answer to all their woes is just plain laughable.

It seems you don't know about basic stuff then since the original iPhone didn't even have app in the first place. So it's more useless than original Apple Watch?

Lets not cheat ourselfs if you owned series 0 from beginning you know what i talk about.

I don't know what you're talking about honestly, and I even begin to suspect whether you yourself know what you're talking about.
Here I am, sitting wearing original Apple watch SS that I can use to easily reply to my girlfriend message (doesn't have to walk to another room to get my iPhone), the fact that the new Xiaomi watch you're drooling of doesn't even have a capability to do. So what you're talking about exactly?

Simple question, if you're THAT unsatisfied with your "piece of junk", why wait 2-1/2 years to complain? I think if I were that unhappy with something, I'd have it returned within a shorter time than that.
If it took you 2-1/2 years to decide that you were unsatisfied, I'd say that's a pretty good item, after all, it worked for you for that long, right?
Just my thoughts.

Unfortunate the the OP is unhappy with a major purchase. That said, I've had an S0 for 2.5 years and am generally happy with it. Am I disappointed that it won't run WOS5? Sure. But I am disappointed whenever anything I've bought "times out." I'll probably keep this until the battery no longer runs through the day. I agree with the OP, and I think the sentiment of some of the earlier posters: if a products brings you this much grief, buy something else. It's just an object.

I have a feeling logical thinking is not OP forté.
I think I would have to agree with that sentiment, considering he says he took a trip from Denmark to Cupertino JUST to buy an Apple Watch.

Either that or shenanigans are afoot, considering it was released in France, Germany, and the UK on the same day it was released in the US. There was no need to make a special trip to the US when there were three EU countries much closer where he could get it. Not to mention that I'm sure a flight to the west coast was more costly than one to any of the east coast cities.

You know what i mean right ? Because I am aware of all that you wrote.
All i am saying the series 0 (or any other series) watch is not be what i assumed i purchased (or they would have to do wonders with watch os4 before going os5) It has been up and down all the way so far... feel i paid 500$ to be a beta tester for a product and now it is “obsolete”

With a smart watch you go into different catagory (i still have my childhood watch and it runs perfect)

I just fear to be left behind with no progress and bad watch os. Because my watch is crap and have been since beginning.

You have been happy and fairly problem free during your time with apple watch?
I my opinion apple watch is still not as reliable as i thought when i purchased it back then.
Just to make it clear I also own just about everything apple .. man i even went to apple in cupertino to buy a freaking watch. I can say much about apple both good and bad but that series 0 watch is still ****

I agree with Kohlson. I have a series 0 and I like it just fine. Use it everyday. I'm sure the new ones are better and I'll upgrade eventually but it's not any kind of emergency. Not sure what you wish was different.

Then why did you not return it?

I have had every watch they have released (except the series 1). The Series 3 blows the original out of the water, but that is to be expected. It was a first gen product, it was slow, but it definitely did what they said it would do.

Than Germany? I highly doubt that. Google Maps says Copenhagen to Hamburg is 4.5 hours by car. Hanover and Berlin are 6 to 6.5 hours away. I also highly doubt a flight from Copenhagen to Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, or London is more expensive than one to Cupertino.

What he said. I bought the Series 0, spent three days with it, I didn't feel like it did enough, I returned it.
I waited until they made it a little more of a self-sufficient device. They introduced LTE. I bought the series 3 (even though I was skeptical). It's to this day comfortably resting on my wrist and one of my fav Apple products. You don't like something, you deal with it quickly...not after almost 3 years

Yet you're now contemplating dropping $200 on a totally locked down smartwatch with less power, screen real estate, memory and functionality than even a almost 2 year old Series 1? And no third-party appstore to boot just to really make the difference. Support on this China-Centric device may also be a real issue.

We, am I the only on who is totally confused at this course of action?

Even my weather app is so slow i never use it. It is slooooow and battery sucks
