Apps broken in iOS 5

This is my first time using a beta version. Do developers update their apps to fix bugs on iOS 5 prior to the official release of the OS? i.e, the Weather Channel app that isn't showing severe weather alerts...is that something they will fix before the public release of iOS 5?

These lists are so valuable, particularly with the first beta.

actually these lists don't make any sense. it is in Beta for a reason and not in general use. it is in beta so each Developer can make there apps work properly in the new iOS and of course make new apps that use features from the new iOS

Yep. That is why Apple gives the most current version to developers well in advance before the official version releases.

Besides not playing video, Netflix also fails to display a keyboard in search.

Mondo Solitaire (full & Lite) displays splash screen then crashes

Reuters Galleries does not display photos

When it DOES launch (most times it crashes immediately) AP News does not update.

EW Must List crashes at launch

HBO GO crashes at launch

Hulu Plus - no video, (but audio works?)

Yes. When I try to reply to a post - it says no internet connection.

Same happens to me sometimes and only on 3G

All the video streaming apps seem broken. I downgraded my iPad back because I could no longer use Netflix on it. I'm not sure if radio apps are the same way though.

Facebook is pretty buggy. But that app has always sucked so who knows if it's iOS 5 or just the app

I sometimes get errors, but it seems to be the app, not iOS 5.

Probably, but as they can't release apps compiled for iOS 5 yet, they're not necessarily able or bothered to solve the glitches in apps running on an OS that's not approved for end-users.

i remember ios 4 compatible apps coming out during it's beta

iMovie of all things isn't working for me. I've shot video on my iPhone 4 and iMovie can't see them. Same on my iPad 2.

Netflix - video won't play
Hulu Plus - video won't play
HBO Go - video won't play
Beejive - can't send video
Boxcar - can't configure settings for individual streams

Some will and some won't. There is no requirement to be iOS 5 compatible before iOS 5 is released, but a dev would be foolish not to be. Shortly before iOS 5 is released there will be a tidal wave of app updates.

UK Train Times (National Rail) crashes on startup. Texted on iPhone and iPad and have tried a reinstall. No dice.

National Rail app is now working under Beta 2! i can get rid of that substandard thetrainline.com app now!
