I purchased Plants vs Zombies for my iPad2. I was hoping that when I launched the App store on my MBP, that it would show this item as purchased, but it shows I have no purchases. And I see that the Mac version of PvZ is $10 versus the iPad price of $.99 or $3.99 (as I recall). I think I know, but I'd like to confirm that apps purchased for Ipad are not the same and are not compatible for Apps purchased for a laptop/desktop Mac? Thanks!

The apps are the same. The iTunes stores are different. iPad has it's own store. iMac/MacBook has it's own store. If you want the same game on both you will pay twice, and the price could very well be different. iMac/MacBook games generally cost more.
