OK. So how do you unlock your device without the lock screen disappearing? When I unlock my device, the lock screen becomes the home screen. Isn’t that the whole idea behind unlocking your device? That you no longer see the lock screen because your device is unlocked? So, how, once you have unlocked your device, can you long press on the lock screen, which has become the home screen because you unlocked your device? I am yet to figure this out and have never yet managed to long press my unlocked lock screen and see a +. What does that even mean? An unlocked lock screen is the home screen. Please, someone, kill me now.Did you create a new lockscreen page? Unlock your device then long press in the lockscreen and hit the +
Your username is The_Cynic, so I suppose that tracks! I’m not sure why anyone would seriously want an app like that (and it doesn’t necessarily work for cases of sudden failure; for instance it doesn’t appear to do anything to calculate your odds of death by automobile or aviation accident, nor does it seem to calculate based on your occupation, this math should be doable), but, once I realized your post was intended to be humorous, I had to tip my hat to you.I do so hope that my favourite app “LifeRemaining” gets a widget as soon as possible. It’s a real nifty little app that takes all your existing medical conditions, family history of medical conditions, income levels, education level, and all the data from the health app and uses GPS to track where in the social-economic global chain you live, and gives you a very accurate countdown to your most likely time of death.
Now, whenever the madness of happiness first spreads its joyous tendrils out to give me false hope, I can simply lift my phone and be reminded of how pointless and futile it all is. Sure, I could just simply open the app and look at the pretty countdown graphs and most probable cause of death, but that’s extra steps needed, time I could be better spending watching my life meter go down.
To have this on the Lock Screen is a real game changer for me.
Actually, I’m on a high protein diet right now for preparation for surgery soon. The end result is that I’m needing to consume substantially more water than I’m used to. I have one of those water bottles with the times marked on them (not the feature I bought it for, but I could see it being useful), but I need to drink almost double the amount of water I normally would. That’s one situation where easier water tracking is a good thing. I know based on my urine from the past few days that I need to drink more water, but I still feel waterlogged with the same amount of water. So that means I need to drink more frequently than I’m used to. I’ll probably just put WaterMinder on my watch as a complication, but I can totally see the value of having it on your lock screen. For telling you when you need to use the toilet?
Use TouchID (by resting your finger on the TouchID button without pressing it in) or FaceID and let it automatically unlock. You’ll still be on the lock screen, but you’ll be able to interact with it. You’re swiping in from the bottom (or pressing the Home Button), which causes it to unlock AND go to the home screen. Alternatively, you can just swipe the top left of the screen to bring up Notification Center, which also is the lock screen (but it’ll be unlocked because your phone is unlocked). From there, you can follow those instructions.OK. So how do you unlock your device without the lock screen disappearing? When I unlock my device, the lock screen becomes the home screen. thanks. i really hope that some app will bring a widget just for one asset (btc for example) where I can see the value, not the changeDelta Investment Tracker also just released their Lock Screen Widgets, so you can see a certain asset's price or your portfolio performance or a list of 3 assets (can be either stocks, funds, crypto, forex or NFT).
Unfortunately, although Readdle 4x2 home screen widget will indeed show your current event until it has ended, and their small lock screen widget will indicate the amount of time remaining in your current appointment, the large lock screen widget switches to your next upcoming appointment if it it occurs soon after the current one (e.g., if my current appointment is from 5:40 to 5:50 PM & My next appointment is at 5:50 PM, then, sometime before the first appointment ends, it will start showing the second one). When the stock calendar app widgets and Watch complications started doing this silliness, I searched for a long time, and the best solution I found was Calengoo, who’s home screen widgets and Apple Watch large complication will show you your current event until it ends - I’m hoping that the developer will add a Lockscreen widget soonReaddle Calendars (free version; I assume the paid version too).
Also, like their home-screen widgets, they show events which are current. Unlike the stock Calendar app which removes any event from display once it's 15 minutes past the start time.
I’m sure it works similar to how the home screen widgets and watch complications work, at least in terms of updates.does anyone know how often these widget do refresh?
I have another timezone on a lockscreen widget and sometimes it lacks a minute behind.
And the stocks widget is also not updating very often.
Is this a general value or can every app define that?
Would be nice if there was an app that could add a widget that when opened could allow you to open many more widgets….not sure if iOS would allow this. Probably a developer would know if this was even possible. As more and more apps provide widgets, I'm growing very disappointed with the low number of widgets that can be shown on the lock screen. I have a couple of great widgets to add, but you can only replace the date and have up to 4 small widgets. So many great widgets and I will be able to use so few?
