The BBC has launched a Retina Display news App. Brits (and anyone else for that matter) should be excited! I certainly am.

The icons aren't hi-res though so it's a half-hearted effort. Nonetheless, it's good to have the App out after all its delays.

It is hi-res now!

Really stunning news app.

(I'm in Aus and I prefer the BBC to the crap I get down here).

Is it actual in-game support or just menus? Because I did not notice any difference in-game compared to the previous version which seemed already retina-sharp to begin with...

Actually the game is the only thing that is somewhat updated. The buttons, menus, and even some of the background on the game are still low resolution. VERY disappointing half ass "retina update" after waiting so long.

It does seem a little silly to update the game graphics and not the UI, but the game graphics are what really matter to me. I don't care so much about the pixel filled goodness of the buttons and menus, it isn't like you spend more than 5 seconds looking at them as you get in to a level. I hadn't noticed the backgrounds though, that's a little more bothersome depending on how prevalent the low-res ones still are.

Agreed, the game looks great now! So much so that I actually forgot what it used to look like. Now when zoomed in or out there is no pixelation :) Unfortunately I restored from new a month ago, so I have to start over, which means I probably won't play this much at all.

I'm the developer of this app. It uses the front facing camera to make a unique and really fun game:-

Watch the advert to see how amazing it is :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9_Wq5gSbM8

Introducing Scrambleface - one of the most innovative game for iPhone and iPod touch (with camera) this year.

Scrambleface takes a live video feed from the front facing or back camera and makes it a live action sliding puzzle. Watch in amazement as your lips are on top of your head. Laugh at the crazy combinations. Don't stop for too long as everything is moving in real time!

Laugh and your mixed up face laughs, frown and you frown on screen, cry - well because you are stuck on a level!

Scrambleface is unique and something you really need try. Its the new craze. We have found no game on the iTunes store that uses the camera(s) on the iPhone or iPod touch in this way.

- 21 exciting levels
- each level is randomly generated so there are 1000s of combinations of puzzles - play each level over and over they are different each time
- as the puzzle comes from the live video feed of your camera every puzzle will be different
- goes from easy to well pretty frustrating
- easier 3 x 3 grid
- more challenging 4 x 4 grid
- upside down levels
- levels where the camera feed has been rotated right
- time challenge levels with progressivly harder time limits
- preview video at bottom left of screen so you can always see the completed puzzle you are aiming for
- compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch with camera
- on iPhone 4 and iPod touch with camera you can choose to use the front facing camera or the rear camera (iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users will use the rear camera)
- if using the front camera see the reactions of your face as you try and unscramble your face
- point the camera at anything you like and it will scramble the video real time
- your room, its never been this messy before
- your pets and try solve the level while they are moving around
- has your house fallen down? no its just been Scramblefaced
- Scrambleface your friends - joke that it makes them cuter (please don't say we said so!)

Does anyone knows about a DVD and Blu-ray converter for iPad, iPod and iPhone, please tell me if anyone tried one and found it easier than the conventional ones.

The iPhone 4 brings a lot of new features:

Bump app, bump the phone against one another and the information is transferred.

Access all of the files in your Dropbox account from your iPhone and on the go.

Access your Evernote account and add notes, snapshots and more so you can remember things on the go.

The Kindle app gives you access to all of Amazon’s e-books, and will also sync your purchases and current position in each book across all of the apps and physical Kindle readers.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but all those apps don't take advantage of any of the iPhone 4's features. :p

I took these 2 pics on a recent trip to NYC. I loaded them into Instagram and I think they turned out pretty good.

I took the last shot from the plane window. No editing. I actually made it my phone's wallpaper

Actually it does not encrypt in real-time but after you end recording the clip or photo. It can take minutes depending on clip length
